Our lunch visit was great....friendly welcome cold beer and really nice food. Venison steak with couscous and ostrich bobotie were both outstanding and come highly recommended. The outside seating amongst trees with birds chirping was bliss and an opportunity to share lunch in a restful manner. Great place.

My wife and I heard good things about this place, and so decided to give it a try - we were not disappointed. We had the Jalapeños starter - fantastic, then I had the Oxtail and she had the Eland steak. We weren't sure if we'd like them, but both dishes turned out to be incredible. The staff was very... An unpretentious and satisfying place to eat. Stater and main were very tasty, they did take awhile to come but the local beer was able to fill the wait whilst the food was freshly cooked. Quite sensibly priced and the trinkets in the garden added much amusement.

The experience has been better than foreseen, to sit out in the garden is a good thing in summer ans the dishes are really local on regional recipes and ingredients

We were warmly welcomed to the establishment and first enjoyed a drink in the garden which was nicely lit and filled with trees. We had th trout to eat which was delicious and well cooked. Nothing too fancy but simply good food cooked well. Good service and a nice atmosphere. Good place to sample traditional South African cooking.

Thank you for your lovely review. The trout is a winner on our menu and is supplied by a farm a little way out of Montagu and is always fresh. More

We dined with friends outside and what a quirky little place we found. The food was delicious, well cooked and presented and offered great choice of food such as Ostrich steak and Kudu carpaccio. Everyone's meal was delightful. The home brew was ok but they also offered corkage at 35R a bottle so we were able to take our favourite... More

Good location within walking distance from many guest houses. Staff were very friendly & accommodating with special requests. Menu variety was good, although traditional South African dishes would've been nice.

Thanks for your great review. We do indeed offer traditional South African dishes such as Bobotie as well as Oxtail served the African way, not to mention our Karoo Lamb dishes. We are happy to accommodate special requests! More

Great garden right in centre of Montagu, add a restaurant serving good food, good beer, what is there not to like.

We went to the Mystic Tin to have some African food, and we decided to try the ostrich filet, and what a meal and wine to go with it. The surroundings were very cozy, - the personnel relaxed and service minded. The best meal we have had on our trip to SA. Best wishes from Birgitta and Flemming / Denmark

This place seems nice and quaint, we were warned of a wait as they were busy, but at 1hr 15 minutes it was beyond ridiculous. If a kitchen can't cope with that many tables they should shrink the size of the restaurant instead of shoving more tables in. Which was a shame as the food once it arrived was pretty... More
