Take a walk from the pier through town rather than take one of the taxis (golf carts) to the other side of the island, There, on the left, is Amaite, a restaurant on the beach.

This was a daily location to have a drink and watch the sunset. Every day we joined others to admire the beautiful beach and excellent view to the west. We had the continental breakfast there for 5 days and it was a wonderful start to...More

This hotel is right on the beach, also right on the main street for restaurants. Each room has a balcony or little courtyard. Since the hotel is built along the beach, rather than perpendicular to it, The beach chairs, hammocks, etc are never crowded. A...More

We shared a seafood platter. We are big eaters and could not finish the meal! Drinks and meal totaled under $100 US and would have cost us 3-4 times that much in the states

Great Huevos Rancheros and Chilaquiles. Very tasty and good portions. Restaurant was very clean, roomy and good service. Nice beachfront views. Would rate 5 but pricy for a breakfast meal.

We had tried other restaurants in the island, but the day our hotel put the tables out on the sand for dinner service, we were enticed by the atmosphere to give the restaurant a try. It was by far the best meal we've had on...More

Located directly at the beach, the restaurant is very nice and clean. Service is average, food is average and maybe somewhat pricey compared to similar places two blocks away.

Hello. I was hoping to visit Holbox in March 2015 (April could work too), and since I practice sadhana I thought your place would be nice, if there are vacancies. i was wondering, can a person catch a bus from Cancun to Holbox, rather than rent a car? If so, is that safe and practical? Seems I might not need a car on the island. Maybe rent a golf cart, walk, or bike? Another thing I'm wondering if you could comment about—I will vacation there, but also looking to relocate. It's seems like a small place, so are there long term rentals or modest homes ever for sale? And is the cost of living advantageous? I'm hoping to live on, say, $1500 to $2200 per month. Sorry for all the questions. Any little comment at all would be appreciated. Hope to see you soon. —David Lewis Livingston, Montana
