We had intended going further up the road but decided to call in for a drink on the way. After having a couple of drinks and seeing and smelling some of the other diners food we decided to stay put and order here. Hubby had belly pork which was served with savoy cabbage and mashed potato , he requested chips... More

After a late minute booking and a rather stand offish landlady we had a fantastic meal, one of the best ever had and managed to warm to the landlady once she started interacting with us.

The landlady has a rather lukewarm way of greeting you but we had been warned about this so we took it as a challenge to get on her good side ! Once negotiating this and taking our seat in the restaurant her staff served us and the meal was good . Overall the food was good but the dining room... More

We walked from Bainbridge on a lovely sunny day and we enjoyed a great pint and a half in the White Rose Hotel's beer garden. It was a lovely spot in the sun and would certainly head for it again, whenever visiting Askrigg and fancying a beer.

Visited late October, standard of food and service from waitress could not be faulted, but attitude of landlady slightly unwelcoming.

Four of us had an excellent meal at this nice old pub. They employ a chef, not a cook. Great, interesting menu, very pleasant waitress. I had chicken stuffed with haggis with a good serving of well-cooked veg - delicious.

It was ok but more 70s than the quaint pubs around the village, and Hawes. Lots of brasses! Did a gorgeous kids fish and hips -was jelous of daughters meal!

We were staying opposite at the King's Arms but felt it only fair that we sampled all the pubs in Askrigg so tottered across for a preprandial. Bit surprised to find the manager of one of the other pubs (I'll not say which 'cause he's a very nice guy and I wouldn't want to cause probs) having a relaxing drink... More

The food was well prepared and well served. Compliments to the Chefs and the waitresses. Such good value for money too...we had starters and main our first night in the restaurant, couldn't fit a pudding in. We went agin our 2nd night to eat again...and again fantastic cooked food and fantastic service from the 2 girls waiting on.
