We ate here on Christmas Day....the food, service and atmosphere were fabulous - we have already booked again! We have brought friends and family to eat here - no one has ever complained about the quality of food or the level of service - indeed quite the opposite. The fish is exceptional...cooked to perfection! Sunday Lunch is superb...can't wait to... More

Taking the opportunity for a cheeky overnight visit with my other half in the Yorkshire Dales, the B&B we had checked into recommended a visit into Askrigg for 'good pub food'. We visited all three pubs which each had individual 'dales' character.... and ate in the Kings Arms. The meal was very disappointing indeed..... we ordered a sharing platter for... More

Staying nearby, we had dinner here this week. We were impressed by the atmosphere of the bar which was of traditional decor. The staff were helpful and friendly. We were there for dinner only and the meal itself was excellent. We would certainly recommend this place for dining.

Kings Arms is part of Holiday Property Bond but the catering is independent, so open to anyone, and really good. Had dinner on 2 nights, both great. Friendly staff, good beer lots of character in the premises.

Really disappointing! After our visit I am surprised the holiday property bond affiliate themselves with this place. On our arrival the girl behind the bar was extremely unwelcoming and barely managed to bring over the scruffy looking Sunday lunch menu. We had our two year old daughter with us but no mention on the menu of children's portions, we had... More

We had a wonderful meal at the Kings Arm, we didn't need to book but it was rather busy, even so they managed to get all the food out in time.

Always busy, food standards vary, had some excellent meals, also had some disappointing ones. Waiting on staff are good but not exceptional, had a meal in October 2016, two members of the arty were missing and on three occasions they tried to take our order, I work as a waitress and understand why they tried to the first time, but... We ate dinner at the King's Arms with family and all of us enjoyed it. The vegetarian main course was imaginative and made a pleasant change from the often proffered vegetable lasagne or vegetable bake. The salmon special was very good as was the pork fillet.

Had a meal here on our last night of holiday, it was a Tuesday which meant, unbeknown to me, pie night and boy was it a good pie! You can have it with chips or mash and if you have a small appetite you can have half portions. Lovely pub steeped in history.

Despite not having booked, we were fitted in to a busy service with great good grace. Pies outstanding - lots of gravy! Wonderful local beers and a really cosy bar with the obvious Herriot connections. Well worth a visit
