Prime stop between Lisbon and Seville...if you like "cerdo iberico, pata negra"..."black pork"..the one you can see along the roads eating "bellotas" or oak nuts, you can eat all of it : raw ham and dried sausages, sirloins, "plumas" etc Jose Vicente is a great place to do it...

We enjoyed our meal at Tapas Jesus Carrion, which is currently no. 1 on Trip Advisor, but Jose Vicente was a cut above. Both were very welcoming, but here the starters of scrambled egg and Iberian ham, and of grilled vegetables were sublime; also at both we had solomillon Iberian pork and it was more tasty here. Both places were... More

Jose vicente the Cheff has impressed me and my guests once again if you like acorn hog aka cerdo iberico bellotero and you die for jamon serrano pata negra let him take care of you and you are better off ordering not using the menu unless its for wine.

Visited here after touring Las Maravillas - and had a great lunch! The iberian ham really did have better flavor than what we were served in madrid or Seville. Definitely recommend this restaurant!

We were looking for a restaurant in Aracena. El Postiglio was closed, and tripadvisor's list took us to José Vincente. It looked closed but by accident, we entered and were made feel very welcome. The waiter (or the owner?) suggested all sorts of dishes until we had decided. The food was delicious, the atmosphere relaxed, the clientèle were the usual... More

Had the most fabulous long lunch here on a recent business trip and have to say it was a feast of what is best in Spain - the regional ham, cheese, pork and beef were all of top quality and served simply to tantalise the taste buds - service was exceptional given that the restaurant was full at the time... Found out about this place from the rough guide to Andalusia, stood at the door wondering if it was for us but should not have worried. The waiter welcomed us warmly, we explained that our Spanish was poor, he explained that his English was not too good but located us a translation of the menu, the food he recommended was... More

Our dinner at Jose Vicente was really tasty, a starter of Jamon - meltingly rich and buttery with its charachteristic salty, crystalised flecks - The cured ham from this region is most definitely the best in the world. Our steaks came with mushrooms, and a combination of saute potatoes and onions mixed with scrambled eggs (far better than it sounds)....delicious... More

When in Aracena we usually come here for at least one lunch or dinner. This visit sadly, we didn't have time. But the food is rather good, nothing fancy just local dishes cooked in a traditional way. My Husband orders steak if its on the menu and I usually order a lamb dish which is a bit like a hotpot.... More
