Not worth

The typical plate of leitão (typical for the region) is tasty but served in very small quantities. They indicate that each portion is 300 g. However, most of it are bones. If you are hungry you need to order 2 or 3 plates. It seems...to me that they use the meat of leitão to sell as sandwiches and use mostly bones to serve in the restaurant. I guess they do this specially for people that are travelling and not custom clients. If this is your case, avoid this restaurant. The other plate my son had (carne de porco alentejana) was completely burned.More

Dear Rafael D, The portions that we serve (300 g per person) are the common portions used in all restaurants of Mealhada/Bairrada. For some people that want more quantity, or for groups, we advise to choose Leitão by weight, because it's cheaper for the client....More

Great lunch at FIA fair

I was attracted to the menu of this restaurant and enjoyed a lovely lunch at the FIA fair.Nice carrot soup and a very tasty steak with fries,rice and salad.our waiter was very sweet and accommodating. If you fine between 12:30And 2:30, your ticket can be...used for a discount.I enjoyed my meal and look forward to visiting the real restaurant when in the area.More

Better than their neighbours

There are plenty of restaurants along the road but this one has nice staff,good food and mild prices.

Nothing special

We were not sure which of the restaurants to stop at, chose O Castico. The leitao was not spectacular, containing much fat. The skin was nice and crispy however. Other restaurants in the area would be a better choice.
