All around a great meal! Delicious couverts, followed by very tasty piglet and richly-garnished brazed tuna steak, finally topped by a whimsical strawberry mousse, and served by the friendliest staff. Truly worth every cent, and I'm aching for the next visit!

Very nice restaurant, cozy, with a special charm. All the dishes are delicious. The staff is attentive and friendly. But one person can ruin the whole experience. At the exit, we stopped in the lobby to look at the marine life in the aquarium with...the child. The black-haired woman on the door (porteira) opened the front door a minute later and held it open. Seeing that we were discussing the names of fish and not paying attention to her, she came up and asked us to go out from restaurant in a rude way, referring to the quarantine measures that you can not stop in the lobby. We were in masks, there were no customers around us, and no one was waiting in line on the street. The lady apparently wanted to be more important than she really is. I would like to wish the main Manager of the restaurant to pay attention to the inadmissibility of such employees in a restaurant of such a high level. The evening left an unpleasant impression. Next time I'll think about where to spend 100 euros for dinner.More

We visit Portugal about every 3-4 years and much prefer the North to the South (Algarve). When touring the country we typically stop in Mealhada for their famous "suckling pig". We have eaten in a number of restaurants here in town but strongly prefer Rei...Dos Leitos. We feast on the crispy, tasty piglet along with those delicious fried potatoes and fresh tomato & onion salads. A bottle of Vinho Verde is just the right accompaniment. We look forward to this feast for months and are never disappointed. Bon Appetit!! Mange!!!More

Food was ok. The Manager “Antonio Rodrigues” was unwelcoming, arrogant and unprofessional. Reading the menu standing, we asked one waitress a table outside, he kindly said yes. I then made my request to a different waitress than was the staff manager. He replied 300grams of...meat was for one person not for two. As an athlete myself I know exactly what I am suppose to eat. So he quickly said he would not serve that outside justifying it was against covid rules. I decided to take out my order and as I waited for my order, he suggested that I would wait outside, outside was raining. I went twice to this restaurant, a good first time experience, a terrible second time. Leitão was just average qualityMore

Excellent food and service! No doubts about it. The place is gorgeous, inside and outside. But the perfection is in the details. Did not appreciate the lack of sympathy and kindness, especially of those leading the service. The staff works under a negative pressure.More

My family and I were recently invited to a birthday party in Rei dos Leitões. What a night! The food was exquisite, finely prepared and mouthwatering! Rei dos Leitões has always been our option when choosing a night out for dinner, little did I know...they had a private room for small groups...great place, great service and great food!More

Great environment. The staff was fantastic. Very very big wine list to choose! The price was a little higher but expected for the food quality and presentation. Was a great experience. Want to return someday.

While packing our car at the Intercontinental in Lisbon before starting our drive to Fatima and Porto, the doorman suggested we stop for lunch in Mealhada, a town where it seems every restaurant specializes in suckling pig. Based on reading the reviews on TripAdvisor, we...selected Rei dos Leitoes. A brilliant choice. Great meal, warm welcoming armosphere coupled with a friendly, helpful and professional staff. Also, the cleanest bathrooms in Portugal. A great find!More

It's a fair long walk down a busy road. You have a closer restaurant in town called Rocha's.
