We enjoyed visiting this restaurant. Unpretentious and quite straightforward. And smiley service from a pleasant waitress. We had a pizza and a fritto misto with a salad - all good. Nothing exceptional, but served hot and tasty. Together with half a litre of good house red, water and coffees we paid €29.50. Good value

We enjoyed an excellent dinner here with our friends. The ambiance is a bit modest, but the food was spot on. Great value for money.

Hidden in the back streets a bit this is worth a visit. Walls lined with famous composers and manuscripts. We had a very nice lunch, pizza, ham and cheese toastie and chicken schnitzel all cooked fresh and very tasty. Local beer was very good too. Service was friendly as well.

We ate at Alla Putia for the 2 nights we stayed in Gallipoli. We loved the home cooking and atmosphere. The rice, potatoes and mussels were just one dish that we loved.

Have the spaghetti con le cozze (spaghetti with mussels). Best pasta of my life (and I used to work in a top pasta restuarant). The mussels tasted like they'd come off one of Gallipoli's many fishing boats about 5 minutes earlier - softest, sweetest, juiciest I've ever tasted. I will remember it forever. And lovely warm, friendly, accommodating service. Went... More

My husband and I were fortunate enough to stay in Gallipoli for two nights. We loved Alla Putia so much that we ate there both nights. Try the potatoes, rice and mussels. Would recommend this restaurant to everyone without hesitation.

Down a backstreet behind the Duomo cafe this was areal find. You need some italian as the staff speak little english, but great food excellent value. The beer is not cheap at 5 euro for a media glass, but thats not unusual. Pizzas very good and only 4.5 euro.

Description
The term "PUTIA" Gallipoli in dialect means "workshop". At PUTIA, in fact, it is a family-run restaurant-pub, located in the beautiful old town of Gallipoli, whose property was converted from an old carpentry (the shop of course). It 'a rustic and friendly, surrounded by an atmosphere of another era, where in addition to listen to great music, you can taste the authentic dishes of the cuisine of Gallipoli, made daily and according to traditional recipes; but also the main Italian dishes, both meat, both based on fish. At PUTIA is also pizzeria, sandwich, fry, grill and brewery (now famous are craft beers on tap Salento: Pizzica and Taranta). Open daily for lunch and dinner, from 1 June to 30 September, at other times by appointment only.
