About
Cabin 401 is a restaurant inside the sporting complex that is Cockburn Ice Arena. Entrance through rink 2 adjacent to the ice hockey rink. Cabin is a comfortable log cabin styled restaurant to make you feel like you are in Canada or the US, or any ski resort city in the northern hemisphere. Ice rinks are notoriously cold, so Cabin is the antithesis to that, we want you to feel warm and cosy. We serve up casual food, a range of international and local craft beers, wines, cocktails and hot drinks. We have recently started smoking some of our meats and our kitchen garden is looking great. Come and grab some food, a beer and watch an ice hockey match.

Tucked away in the Cockburn Ice Arena, this was a great little find. We went there as a family to celebrate our son's 16th birthday. The staff were lovely and wished him a happy birthday. The menu was very Canadian and the male diners very much enjoyed the Canadian style Parmi's and pulled pork nachos. I had the fish, which was fresh and grilled to perfection. All the meals were beautifully presented, fresh, hot and tasted delicious. The prices were very reasonable and the staff very friendly and all too happy to accommodate any special dietary requests. Definitely worth a visit. We will definitely be back. Thank Cabin 401 for a wonderful dining experience.

Dropped in for lunch with several others. Surprisingly good venue, plenty of space with a view of the ice skating rink.
Great drinks selection.
I ordered the brisket sandwich, disappointing, very small amount of brisket hidden in the sandwich, skimped on a piece of meat to spoil what cold have ben a very nice experience.

Quite nice atmosphere based alongside the ice rink. Canadian, American style bar and menu. Brisket is ok, hot chicken wings are ok, but salads with pressed chicken absolutely shocking. No table service and just an average bar all round. Don’t go out of your way here

Very disappointed with ordering the rib eye steak. Advertised as 350g+, on its arrival it merely looked a little larger than a 2min steak! Maybe around 200g including the sawn in half bone.... not even a full bone. Staff merely said it’s the supplier that’s under serving the weight size, I said perhaps review the price then to reflect what your actually serving. No options available only that if they replace the meal it still will be unsized as that’s all their receiving.
Atmosphere was great, drinks and everything else great, they just need to review the serving sizes and prices...

Hi Jade,
Thank you for your feedback we have spoken to the kitchen about this and they have reassured me that our rib-eyes are always 350g+ please be aware that this is the weight before cooking and includes the weight of the bone.
The kitchen did mention that this last order of rib-eyes were thinner then usual but were still 350g+ because they are a larger width than usual, however, we are talking to our supplier about the thickness of the steaks so this isn't a issue in the future.

Our family came to celebrate a 17th birthday and absolutely enjoyed our first visit to this place. The food was amazing and the atmosphere with the rink to look out to was so much fun. I can't believe we didn't know this place existed until a few week ago! We've been missing out for sure. Will be back very soon for another visit.

Our oldtimer ice hockey team participated in a recent tournament at the Cockburn Ice Arena in which Cabin 401 is situated so we spent a lot of pre- and post-game time in the sports bar and grill. Its atmosphere is fun, its menu wide and varied, its beer on tap on excellent, and the staff are accommodating and very friendly. There is space for hundreds of diners at a time so it's terrific for large groups.

Huge meals and amazing tasty vegan and vegetarian options. Cool surrounding (haha it’s overlooking the ice rink), great customer service. Have visited half a dozen times and never disappointed.

Great to be able to watch a spectacle and eat some burgers and steak whilst enjoying a beer.
Bring a jumper with you if you wish to go through and watch the ice skating

Pretty good food and novelty of having an ice rink attached. Has the feel of a North American sports bar. Would go back.

Talk about a restaurant with a difference, being able to sit down and watch people on the ice training there jumps and or practicing ice hockey. Fantastic.
Plus the decor inside of the restaurant just felt so right.
We ordered the steak and chips, i had mine with garlic butter and my friend with pepper sauce. The meals came out quickly and my garlic butter was lovely over my steak. My friend loved his pepper sauce too. We were both so happy with our meals and our wait staff was super friendly and lovely.
All in all we had a great time and even indulge in desert we both tried the baked cheese cake, i have to admit this wasn't that great, very dense. But we still had a great time with the atmosphere of the people coming and going plus the friendly staff and watching the training and the little kids in there hockey gear was cute.
Will come again, maybe for a real hockey game next time.

I was very impressed with vegan options and quality of food. Jackfruit tacos were really good. Thai red jackfruit curry was also good but would suggest it really needed vegetables in the curry as well and the portion was a little small.
Service was really good, girls were really friendly and helpful
