It is a superb place next to rails on the way to the Ella's Rock. We had a lovely meal kottu, chicken curry and juices. The quality was at a high level, a young boy was very helpful and friendly, worth a visit. Thanks! Pawel

We had dinner here and the food was great. There was more than 10 curries available and all were tasty and fresh. Very good choice for vegans or vegetarians.

We went after we clinbed ella rock for a juice. Really nice and relaxed and there is a lovely view and it is also along the train tracks

Walk right past this place from your walk back from Ella Rock to Ella. Support one of the many other great businesses in Ella who value their customers. 1. We were on the train from Kandy to Ella, it was already dark, when between the last stop before Ella and Ella itself we were hanging out the train on the inside of the turn and all of a sudden there was this lovely smell...of garlic, chili pepers and curry leaves that got us by surprise. The source was this tiny wooden shack next to the train track, with some tiny lights. We knew then, that we wanted to have a bite here. So we got back for lunch and it did not disappoint at all. Fresh, tasty food. Great place to stop on way back from Ella rock, alongside the railway track before you reach Ella. So much better than anywhere else in Ella.

Excellent food and service - great value for money and so much better than any of the places we tried on the main strip of Ella. More flavor than you normally get for equivalent sri lankan dishes in other restaurants. And beautiful view - so...much more peaceful than any place on the main street in Ella town. Amazing little gem for tasty treats. Well worth seeking out if you are anywhere nearby. The garden special curry was delightful and oh so fresh. The mixed vegetable rice was perfect. Dhal curry a bit too salty. The garden restaurant special mix juice: avocado, mango,...papaya and banana was generous and left me feeling energized. Made from whole, garden fresh fruits. This place is so much better and more authentic than the big restaurants in town. Take a chance and seek out these home style little places. The owner was really nice. The prices are really fair and the portions are big. I really like the spot of the restaurant.

We came here as it is by the track between Ella train station and Ella Rock on our way back from climbing. The menu is typical Sri Lankan food and it’s very good value for money. Our waiter, Sena, asked if we wanted to do...a cooking class the next day since we enjoyed the food so much. We were planning on doing one at the Matey Hut after a recommendation but we agreed to go with Sena since it was probably less busy and as we liked the food. He said it was at his house just a bit further up train track and his wife would be doing it. We came back the next evening and went up to their home where we learned to make pumpkin curry, dhal and a variety of vegetarian dishes. Their family was really sweet and it was only 1300 rupees per person but we gave them 5000 for 3 of us.More

Great little shack/ restaurant actually off the tracks between Ella and Kithal ella stations. Food was an excellent price, finally some decent Sri Lankan food that doesn’t break the bank. (Egg curry 300lkr, fish curry 350lkr, rice included). Also, great place to spot wildlife and...train spot, saw a mongoose, peacock, parrots and chipmunks during dinner as well as witnessing a train coming past. Loved it.More

The service was kind of slow but kind. The vegetable kotthu was to spicey in my oppinion but my boyfriend enjoyd that as well as his own food. The juices (lime and mango) was delicious! The lime juice did not have too much sugar in...it, which have often been the downside in the limr juices we tasted in sri lank (also too much salt).More
