We called the restaurant in the afternoon and made a reservation for two for the evening. When we arrived we were welcomed warmly by the owner who offered a nice table to us. Great menu where anyone can find something for their taste. Not only...the display of the food was nice, but it also tasted great. The chef explained everything on the menu to us and also proudly presented pictures of the freshly caught tuna. Moreover, the recommended wine (Rosé) was very delicious and we left the restaurant full and very happy. Would definitely come back!More

Unfortunately we had a very unpleasant experience at this pretty restaurant in a lovely corner of Bonifacio. We had booked a table and arrived at 7.30 - on arrival it transpired that I had misunderstood the booking which had in fact been for 7. This...was obviously completely my fault but unintentional, however the host reacted extremely rudely. I then explained that the table had been booked for 4 people, however that unfortunately there were now only 2 of us. Again - not their fault. What he didn’t know is that the other 2 guests had been ill that evening and not left time for us to inform the restaurant. I appreciate that he needs to fill his tables, but the manner of his reaction really felt humiliating at the time. We were essentially loudly thrown out of the restaurant in front of all the other diners. It was handled extremely poorly and we felt angry and shocked at the public and aggressive way he handled it and spoke to us.More

This small restaurant in the medieval heart of the upper town of Bonifacio is a lovely spot. We ate there twice during our trip. The terrace is under an arcade of old stone arches and faces the church (if you are lucky you may start...your dinner to the sound of Corsican song from the church). Good food, he offers good local wines. We enjoyed the St Jacques crumble, the sea bass prepared fully boned and the lamb.More

Very nice address in the old town of Bonifacio. Far from the mess of the harbour, you stroll around and find this very good address. Sitting outside, next to the main church it was so pleasant to enjoy the menu that Max is proposing. Follow...his advice on wines, he knows what he is talking about. We skipped desert but that was probably a mistake... Really worth the visit.More

Max is an extraordinary host and restauranteur. In spite of being extremely busy, he made a cozy space for us and served us with the utmost grace and patience. And the food! In particular, the wild boar stew, braised lamb shank, and half- baked chocolate...cake: WOW!!! This meal was THE highlight of our visit to Bonifacio, and a standout of our fantastic trip to Corsica. Not to be missed!More

Very typical french kitchen. Very good atmosphere. You are safe here. An extra point for the waiter. Doesn’t speak a word english, but will help you anyway.

Where do I start! This is a complete jem - Max the owner and manager opened up his restaurant to us and managed to accommodate our large group of 15 with no trouble at all. As an English speaking group he had his work cut...out for him, but was so wonderfully animated in his French description of the menu, that we all managed to order delicious meals - including amazing deserts worth leaving space for. The food really was excellent - enjoyed by both children and adults. Thank you Max for a fabulous evening in your restaurant in a beautiful hilltop town.More
