the only problem is that on arrival you are almost ambushed by the waitresses. They will probably receive a bonus if they serve someone. The food was tasty, good portions and real Thai food.

Tested two days ago. Room locals, basic, complimentary comments for such a simplistic kitchen. I do not hold anything interesting on this site. Despairing of finding a good address with fine food here in Trat, maybe we are not doing it right. I forgot, always...a crappy service, all the politeness is to review. Forever bye bye.More
We found their dishes to be well prepared and cooked to perfection. They served us large portions of good quality ingredients. It is an open air, with roof, style restaurant with seating for about 200. We were there at 5pm (17:00) and luckily didn’t experience...the dinner rush.More
We were the only tourists in the place. We got an other, smaller menu with only 15 dishes, 90 percent above 120 baht, for that kind of place, way too expensive. The Thai people got an entire menu folder. I saw some dishes coming out...of the kitchen that are not in the tourist menu. We ordered chicken lemongrass with the waitress. I know that the knowledge of English is not common in Thailand, and I respect that, but a little smile, would be nice. The chicken was terrible. Overcooked and the pieces on my plate were the garbage pieces of the chicken. Little bones everywhere, no meat. Never again. Shame tough, I like the local Thai places.More
Nice local restaurant with many different dishes. They have english translated menues, which are helpfull. The waiters speak only a little english, but that has its own charme :) although the Restaurant was not nearby our guesthouse, it was worth the way :)
Namchock restaurant was recommended by the helpful staff at Rimklong hotel in Trat. It didn't disappoint. It was packed with locals by early evening midweek and for good reason. The menu was extensive and cheap with some dishes listed quite bizarre by our (western) standards...but also heaps of the recognised Thai favourites with many seafood options as well. If you can't find something here to suit your taste I'd be very surprised. And you won't go away hungry. Each dish we had was authentic local Thai with no concessions made to western palates which is exactly what we are always after. Service was perfunctory but no issue. Stick your hand up, make eye contact and you'll be attended to. It's a big sprawling place, largely outdoors with awnings and umbrellas. The rival Singha and Chang girls strut their usual stuff so the beer arrives quicker than the food. Problem is on a hot night? Food was delicious. If you're in Trat en route to the islands, make a beeline to Namchok.More
We ordered 2 recommended from the menu for Numchok restaurant - stir fried duck and fried mackarel with garlic fish sauce (That's so amazing taste!) And also ordered Thai spicy soup or Tum yum sea food. If you visit to Trat don't forget to come...to here. I was stayed at S.A. Hotel walk about 5 mins to get there. Just ask people around there most everyone know it! Do not miss it!More
This place is a must to visit if you want local food with a reasonable price. The taste is delicious. Try Fish Tom Yum, stir fried fish belly, all kind of seafood.
Authentic Thai food full of locals, always a good sign. Lots of interesting dishes for the adventurous diner, frog, ostrich, crocodile ???!!!! Four mains plus a large beer and watermelon drink came to 450 thb which I thought was particularly good value.
If the place looked as good as food taste it would be too expensive to enter. Nice size portions, friendly staff and your food is made when ordered and to preference on spices. It's a quiet outdoor ( no walls) place worth finding. No sign...of the name in English as far as I could see- but found it anyway ( so it has to be easy to locate)More
