Very cool place with shady plants, smiley attentive staff and truly sensational food and drinks. I had no idea that vegetarian food could be this good!! I visited with family three times in a week, with no disappointments. Favourite drinks were the Kickstart Smoothie and Icy Soul - all mains tried were beautifully presented and delicious, with Jackfruit Tacos and Avo Toast ordered twice. And not expensive for such a very memorable, gastronomic experience.

We came across this place after going past it on a tuk tuk, had lunch here and thought it was amazing.
We ate the tuna poke bowl and the fish burger which were both cooked perfectly.
We will definitely return and recommend this place.

Stopped off here for breakfast before going on Top House cinnamon tour nearby (would also recommend!) Arrived by train from Galle and walked over to Nomad as had been recommended by friends. Buzzy cafe with outdoor seating at the front and a garden with more seating at the back. The menu had a good choice of interesting options - something I welcome as being allergic to eggs I’m always disappointed by the lack of choice! The icy coffee, made with coconut milk was delicious! I’m not a vegan, but there was loads to cater for those who are.

Very nice place. Across the south coast there are lots of lovely places to have breakfast. Very close to the big junction as a result too noisy. Pancakes was super tasty but fruit juice in water and expensive prices.

Thank you for the time you have taken to review us.
Regarding the gate, it was closed because the restaurant was already closed and we reopened the kitchen and bar for you (it had closed 15 minutes before you arrived) which we are happy to do if we can.
As i said when you communicated to me that you were disappointed with the service, I am really sorry that your experience at Nomad wasn’t satisfactory. What saddens me most, though, is that, instead of (even) “terrible service” as a title, you would choose to write something so unkind, disrespectful and offensive towards an individual person with feelings. Something which is, in fact, untrue. The person you mentioned had the busiest service of the past two years and had helped the most during the day in other areas that needed it, which made him exhausted.
Kind regards,
Claudia

We visited Nomad 4 times last week for brunch & tried different dishes each time - all looked amazing & were delicious! The atmosphere is relaxed with lovely music & plants & plenty of shaded seating areas.
The staff were friendly & welcoming & the menu offers a wonderful varied selection.
I would definately highly recommend a visit!!

My husband and I visited Nomad for a late lunch. We ordered 2 dishes to share and coffee. The coffee was very good but the raw tuna in the tuna bowl was clearly not fresh and looked quite grey, also there were chewy parts as the tuna was not cut right. My appetite was gone, but my husband still ate it as he was very hungry. I still decided to mention it to the waiters as they better prevent happening this in the future. We showed the tuna, but they denied there was a problem. They ignored the problem fully and did not even apologise. I think Nomad is not aware of the fact that old raw tuna can make you sick (next tot that it is very unpleasant to eat). I normally don’t like to complain about a place with a review, but as the waiters did not respond to the problem at all I don’t see an other option.

I would like to express my gratitude to the staff of Nomad Cafe for the amazing atmosphere, delicious food, and prompt service. The cafe staff also helped me prepare a surprise for my husband (special thanks to Krishan) - they custom-made a cake and celebrated my husband's special occasion. Thank you for your flexibility and personalized approach.

I went to eat the day before yesterday..the food was very delicious but the unpleasant thing was a sweaty waiter served me.I am surprised that the order was delayed and he gave me carrot cake which I did not order.
He should be more concerned about the hygiene and smell of the waiter wearing long denim pants fit muscle guy.

What an amazing find for us while staying at the Marriott Weligama!
Nomad is short walk from the Marriott Hotel, and my kids and I ate there every day. It's a small outdoor seated cafe, with a lovely vibe and cheerful team.
Their coffee, drinks, Tuna Poke Bowl and Granola Fruit bowl with passion fruit were all delicious.
Nomad is clearly a thoroughly professionally run business and it shows in the way the staff and food is presented.
Nomad is always busy with guests - a true sign of a good business.
I recommend it highly!
A must go when in Weligama.

Very nice place with very good food and juices. I went twice and all I tried was very tasty. Very nicely surprised by the coffee, I did not expect such a good coffee so far away from Italy :)
Despite all the people that were keep on coming during the rush hours, the staff was also very professional and polite.
Totally recommended!

All the tables were occupied, there was even kombucha on the menu. I didn’t manage to try the food, although I really wanted to: there were just a ton of flies flying around (there were 8 of them sitting on my table!), I’ve never seen anything like this in any restaurants in Sri Lanka. I didn’t eat - I left in shock.
Street dogs with fleas and worms are running around, so think about what will happen if a dozen flies sit on your food.

This is my favorite place in Weligama. My dad and I have been coming every day for breakfast/brunch while we are in Weligama. I crave the smoothie bowls--each one of them is delicious. They are full of fresh fruit and delicious granola. We have had the other dishes on the menu as well and each one is fabulous. What has really made the place special is one of the staff members, Sathya. Sathya makes sure our order is exactly as we it to be. After we came once, he remembered exactly the specifics of what we liked. Sathya is an excellent communicator and he is an incredibly warm person. He makes us feel welcome as soon as we enter. Sathya is truly a wonderful person and has helped make our experience at NOMAD Café one of the highlights of our time in Sri Lanka.
