Thought that it would be better because of the reviews. We were seated outside in back; felt like we were forgotten at times. I think our waiter was fairly new also and was akward at times. Food was average; nothing to rave about considering the cost.

We arrived in Springdale after spending nights in Moab and Tropic and finding that the food in Southern Utah is often pretty basic and unexicting (burgers, chicken, pizza). The Spotted Dog gave us a whole new perspective. We had the trout and the ahi tun entrees, and both were excellent. Service was also a high standard. So you really can... More

This is one of the better restaurants in Springdale and they offer creative cuisine. The atmosphere is intimate, with the tables rather close together. Very pleasant service. Our issue was with the wine list, for which they are supposedly known. Many of the white bottles on offer were old--as in 8 or 10 years old--and not wines that were meant... More

Visited in mid-May 2017 on a weekday after spending the day hiking in Zion National Park. Inside atmosphere felt upscale but many people were casual like us. Our dinner entrees were delicious. One of us had the salmon and one of us had the shrimp and asparagus pasta. Both dishes were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Worth every penny. The house... More

This place has an excellent creative chef and staff. We ate there 3 nights in a row and the 4 of us had many things on their menu. Don't miss out on the wild mushrooms appetizer, or the seared Ahi tuna entree.

Thank you for taking the time to review our restaurant. Ou sauteed wild mushroom are quickly becoming a crowd favorite. Eight types of mushroom (including wild) sauteed in white wine and garlic, with a touch of red pepper are sure to please even those that are on the fence about this exotic dish. Thank you for your company, and thank... More

When I first saw this restaurant, I had assumed it would be pretty high quality. That changed after I had dinner/breakfast here. The food is alright, but nothing to write home about. It was a little pricey for the quality of food too, especially for dinners. All three of us were overall not satisfied with our food quality, but not... More

We are sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your dining experience here. It always surprises me when guests would rather leave a poor review than communicate with the staff while they are on premises, so the establishment can do everything in their power to make it right. I guess this is the world we live in now.... More

I visited Springdale with a group of women on a four-day hiking adventure in Zion National Park. On our last evening, we decided to treat ourselves to a fine dining experience, and after looking at all the options in Springdale, we selected The Spotted Dog. The restaurant decor, atmosphere, menu selections and prices are upscale, and the food presentation was... More

This is not how this communication went down exactly... I came over to help clear dishes when I noticed the steaks were not eaten. When asked what the problem was, I was told the steaks were not the correct temperature, and that they felt it was a poor cut. I was asked to cut into the steak to confirm. When... More

My husband and I went here for our anniversary. We are use to doing a hike then strolling into a local eatery just as we are. I'm glad we showered before going here because it's a much nicer restaurant then I expected! The food was so good. I got the sea food pasta and my husband got the buffalo burger.... More

The atmosphere in this comfortable, yet chic restaurant was slightly less casual than others, with its interesting art and elegant setting. The food was also a cut above the grill/barbecue/Mexican fare prominent in the area. Their fish dishes were well-prepared; the appetizers well-portioned and plated; the service friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable. All four of us agreed it was the best... More

We had dinner here one evening and for as pretentious as this place was the food was just average. The fruit and cheese appetizer plate was excellent but my husband had the trout(bland, veggies cold and undercooked) and my salmon was the same. We spent over $100 yet they said they had no Wi-Fi. Would it really kill you to... More

I do apologize about the lack of WIFI in the restaurant. We are in a small canyon, and although we have invested a great deal of money into fiber optic internet service, the connection is sub par at best. With the hotel guests returning from the park, and everyone and their brother needing to post the latest picture of their... More
