It feels like you are really in Japan. Reasonable prices and nice atmosphere. The menu is in English too. Again like Japan, it is a little tight but it really feels authentic. I like the ikayaki (squid).

It's very comfortable if you are used to restaurants in Japan. The space is rather small. Their foods are very Japanese, but not very good ones, meaning unique, but not very ONO.

Food is really awesome! Dynamite comes to you flaming, watercress salad is a definitely a reason to go. Try something different every time you go, never a disappointment

I went to Choco House for dinner. I do have to say that their food is pretty decent. Sushi was fresh. There is a nice Japanese style atmosphere and the place definitely caters to the Japanese tourists. The prices are reasonable and that made it tolerable. What was worst was the service. These people totally ignored until you flag them... More

Been going to various Japanese izakaya lately and found out through a friend about Choco house. It's not in the best location in related to Waikiki. It's a small restaurant, with a decent menu. Staff are friendly. It definitely feels like one of the izakayas I used to frequent during my years in Japan. However, this one has a distinct... More

The food is exceptional here but don't try 'Natto sushi' unless you want to eat nasty fermented sushi that the Japanese love! It's an acquired taste from Japanese homeland so Choco itself doesn't rank any lower in our opinion because everything else we tried was fresh and tasty! It's a little place underneath Hawaiian Monarch Hotel (if you're a guest... More

Food was fine. Service was a little rough until i started speaking Japanese...At first i couldn't get anyone to bring water or tea..Even when I broke out in Japanese at first she looked at me agitatedly like, "Here's another guy going to annoy me with his college Japanese." But after carried on fluently for a while, her facial expressions changed... More

Small hole in the wall on the side of a hotel. Looked a little seedy on the outside but we gave it a try. It was unbelievable!

Let me just say that I was the only white guy speaking English in this restaurant. Staff if fluent in both English and Japanese and probably Korean and Mandarin as well. There were things on this menu that I've never heard of, and was curious about, but I was on a time/quantity run. Everybody seems to be having a great... More

My daughter was hungry for seared ahi tuna so we asked our hotel concierge for recommendation-- somewhere we could walk to. They recommended Choco House. The place was a hole in the wall so we weren't quite sure about it when we first walked in. I soon realized this is a local eat out, and decided to be open minded... More
