We made a trip here to get Malasadas. They were good. They were opened early enough for a breakfast start.

We ate at Champions as well as Leonard's. They are both good and served hot. Champions is more doughy and slightly less sweet. I guess it's just a matter of preference. They also had chiffon cakes which were very good too.

Our go to place for malasada's. Perhaps because it is close to where we live. My kid thinks it's waaaaay better than Leonards. Idk as Leonards has puffasada's:yum. But, Champion's is a fam business, and it's nice to see the same faces that know your face to. Their malasada's are fresh, no major line, and they offer other donuts as... More

Champion Malasadas is one of many malasada shops in Honolulu and it is one of the best. They serve them hot and fresh and the malasadas are a little fuller than the average. They do not come close to the poi malasadas of Kamehama bakery but they are probably better than Leonard's.

Please also see my review on Leonard's. We did a side by side comparison between Champion and Leonard's. They are both hot fresh off the oven so undeniably they are both very very good. Definitely worth a visit to either of them if you are in Honolulu and you like donuts. I ate the original from both places. Champion edged... More

Champion malasadas are well known to locals. They offer some of the best malasadas on the island. The restaurant is easy to locate from the hotel areas. Beretania is a major one way street in Honolulu

Hubby says the breakfast is a deal, 2 eggs, 3 slice of bacon, choice or 2 scoops rice or toast or 1 malasada for less than $6.00. I enjoy the small sponge cake; soft and springy.

I decided to try Champion Malasadas after reading the reviews and recommendation from the valet attendant at the Hawaiian Hilton where we stayed. It was only about a 10 min drive from the hotel. I arrived at the store at about 10 am and requested a dozen malasadas .... 4 plain and 8 with custard (without sugar coating). The woman... More

We had wanted to taste Champion's malasada's for some time. A friends had referred us, saying they were as good as or better than the legendary Leonard's. So, since Leonard's has become the chronic destination of every tour bus in Oahu...we thought we'd give it a try. Well, now we've got to reevaluate our friend's taste for pastries! They were... I saw many reviews that said this is better than Leonard's, that is baloney! It is not even close. Very doughy and heavy. The ones with custard are cold and heavy. Don't go here, go to Leonard's.
