Blueberry stuffed French toast was amazing! The redheaded waitress we had was rude from the start. Still left her a good tip, maybe she had a bad day. But I wouldn’t go back there because she was so rude.

We went to the cafe as it was quite popular on social network. The food is a bit disappointing though. We ordered locomoco and pork egg benedict, and they are both too salty. Not recommended.

Fabulous breakfast at family owned cafe, off the beaten path of busy Waikiki. Food was great - we ordered breakfast wrap, breakfast BLT sandwich and the special- upside down pineapple waffles. All were 5 stars. We were seated in less than 5 minutes and server...was attentive and welcoming. He kept the coffee and water flowing which was very appreciated. Food came out quickly and hot. Parking was easy, large lot in front. Highly recommendedMore

I know, this place is famous for breakfast but I didnt feel to eat carb meal, so I ordered Cobb Salad, it was plan dish, nothing special. When they served the dressing was too much on salad, it was too salty, I didnt say until...server asked me everything is O.K. I said that, they exchanged a new salad with dressing on the side. The foccaccia was too oily , looks bit not fresh. I may visit again for breakfast...More

Delicious breakfast, friendly staff. Easy offstreet parking. The best pancakes I have ever tried and the Eggs Benedict was also really good!

We had breakfast here on a Monday morning. We arrived pretty soon after they opened and they were already busy. They have plenty of parking out front. We were seated right away. The service was great and so was the food. It did take awhile...for one of the plates to come out, but it was worth the wait. I wish they let you put chocolate chips on the waffles. If you are looking for a breakfast place that is popular with the locals this is the place. If we come back to Honolulu, we will most likely give this a try again.More

The best breakfast we had during our time in Honolulu. It is a really cute little restaurant in a strip mall. We were fortunate that there was no line up when we arrived. The staff were very efficient and we were well taken care of....I had a breakfast croissant with ham, cheese, tomato and spinach. It was delicious. My husband had the special of the day – cinnamon bun waffle. It was nice hot and tasted just like a cinnamon bun (my husband’s favorite). He had an order of crispy bacon with it. The food was very good, service was good and prices are reasonable. I’m sorry we didn’t go early during our vacation. Would highly recommend.More

Great Pork Benedict! The eggs were poached perfectly! One of our best meals on the island. I highly recommend stopping in here to support a local business.

The loco moco was outstanding! Someone said it was Hawaiian meatloaf; not even close. Our food, coffee, service and price were all excellent.

I would advise visiting Cafe Kaila if you are in search of a decent breakfast that is away from the main options on Waikiki Beach. You will largely have the same experience if you dine anywhere around Waikiki Beach walk, and that is fine if...it's what you seek, however I would recommend this place based on the basic fact that it's filled with locals. My wife and I randomly stumbled on this establishment one morning and I'm glad that we did, it offers a delightful and authentic Hawaiian breakfast experience at an affordable price. The menu is large and there is something for everyone from omelets to fruit plates as well as traditional Hawaiian dishes such as Loco Moco which was what I ordered. The rendition of Loco Moco that I had was made with meatloaf, served over a bed of white rice and topped with two eggs over medium. This dish was extremely hearty and very satisfying. The menu also features a variety of benedicts which were very interesting and that would be the next item I sample if I ever visit again. I found the service to be very responsive. We visited twice during our stay and sat at the counter both times-the staff is friendly as our the fellow patrons. I would suggest going as early as possible because the café fills up very quickly causing inevitably forming a substantial l line to get in. They are only open for breakfast and lunch-but I would suggest going for breakfast, it was the perfect place to start our day. Certainly go if you are visiting Honolulu, it is an easy ten minute drive from touristy Waikiki Beach but worth the drive to enjoy a local breakfast.More

Wow! This was a great meal. Generous, too. You could go till dinner without eating. We don't eat that much, usually. The moco Loco, very traditional, was out of this world. My wife had the chicken and waffles, also great. Guava juice was also excellent....5 starsMore

THIS PLACE IS A MUST! It was our favorite the entire trip. The house made guacamole and salsa is the best I have ever had. The waffles and pancakes are so flavorful and fluffy. My husband had a chicken salad that was really good also....Should have gone back to this place instead of gambling on a different breakfast type place.More

I'm not sure if they use canola oil, but you call the cafe` and ask if they do. I always have to ask if there is any type of shrimp used to prepare the food (I am allergic to shrimp used any way).
