Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Ok - definitely worth the visit. Had the wings and huge chop and amazing traditional crazy flavoured desert and wine. The vibe was excellent, the service the same and set up excellent. Even going to loo was fun. Wish I could eat there now!

This is an amazing little place with great food and service. I read about the chicken wings with money since and it didn't disappoint. Highly recommend this place, it gets busy so reserve a table or be prepared for a wee wait. It's totally worth...it!More

The ambience and decor and service were really good, but the food was pretty ordinary. I had a vegan pho and I couldn't eat much of it as it just didn't taste that good. I also ordered a scallop entree which looked pretty but tasted...a bit strange. The wine was nice. It is an expensive restaurant and I don't think it's good value for money although I should note that the people I dined with said their food was nice. I think perhaps if you're vegan, vegetarian or pescatarian you are a bit out of luck as there were very few vegan/vegetarian options.More

Head to The Pig and the Lady for delicious cuisine, cheerful local vibe and efficient service. I’ll preface this by admitting that I’ve never been to Vietnam and am not a Vietnamese food aficionado by any means. Although, this is easily the best Pho I’ve...ever tasted. Tons of flavor, huge chunks of beef and noodles cooked to perfection. The French Dip/Bahn Mi crossover is also fantastic. Another plus is that everything is at a fair price and the Pho portion size will not leave you hungry unless maybe you’re an NFL lineman or something. Only cautionary downsides are that you’ll be squeezing into a pretty confined dining space so reservations are essential. Also, only one unisex restroom for the whole joint so pace yourself on the fluids. Lastly (and this one isn’t necessarily the restaurant’s fault), this part of Chinatown is always a hassle to drive and park in. Save yourself the headache and just Uber or taxi in. If you don’t live in the neighborhood and drive in (like I did), don’t be surprised if you have to street park 2 to 4 blocks away and realize that you’re only authorized to park in your space for 1 hour max. Bottom line.. get out there and give this place a try and you won’t be disappointed. Just plan ahead and make a reservation so you don’t disappoint yourself:)More

Make sure you make reservations in advance. The chicken wings were probably some of the best we've ever had. The papaya salad is also highly recommended. Like others have said, checkout the bathroom - it is an experience unto itself :)

I've been to Vietnam 6 or 7 times (I own a company that does food tours in 13 countries). This wildly popular place is very *special.* The escargot in puff pastry with a wild herb sauce was epoch. Also off-the-charts was the paparadalle with beef...in a scumptious lemon grass sauce. The bahn zeo was light and flavor-chocked. BE CERTAIN TO RESERVE. There was a line out the door 15 minutes before they opened and most everyone had reserved. Those that didn't were turned away! There were a couple of missed steps. The pours of wine were only 3oz (vs. the standard 4 oz---which means you have to track down a server for another glass and the place was packed.) Secondly, there was a $10 charge on our bill for "kitchen service." Huh? Cooks and dishwashers now get tipped? Prices are high, but in my opinion the food quality warranted it. I'm still giving 5 stars as the place is that compelling for foodies.More

We had the most amazing meal and drinks there. The dishes were so unique and maybe the best ahi tuna I have ever had. Everything was so innovative. The only problem we had is that they were not particularly accommodating to one party that was...gluten free. We check to make sure they could accommodate it and we were a bit disappointed on the quality of the meals and ability to provide gluten-free options. Otherwise really an amazing meal like we've never had beforeMore

Although the downtown area can be old and dirty, this restaurant is a diamond in the rough. The dishes are very unique and well-executed. They had many gluten-free options, but you need to ask your server. The Burmese Tea Salad is an excellent take on...a green papaya salad. Le Fried Chicken Wings were wonderful with the Vietnamese sauce. “BO SSAM” BÁNH XÈO is a really unique dish and very refreshing with the lettuce wraps. BÒ KHO PAPARDELLE was a surprisingly good Vietnamese-style Bolognese pasta. The service is great and the servers have really good knowledge about the dishes. For couples, we recommend sitting at the bar where you can watch the team prep and finish the dishes.More

We visited as a large group and had a great experience. Friendly servers and all our food came out in a timely manner. I had the house shrub beverage and turmeric catfish and noodles- it was all delicious. After lunch we poked around the markets...in Chinatown. The bathroom has a vibe like no other. Great place for lunch, will be returning!More

We dropped in on the off chance and scored a table for 6 at this popular Vietnamese eatery. Staff were great, menu was super tempting and the vibe with all manner of pigs decorating the space was cool. Everything we had was delicious - favourites...were the chicken wings and my triple beef pho (so huge I had my leftovers for dinner next night!) And don’t miss the toilet experience!!!More

We booked based on all the reviews and pictures I have seen of the dishes. The vibe is cool and hip and I get what they are trying to do. I really wanted to like it, as we gave up a reservation at another recommended...restaurant to come. But honestly I have had better Vietnamese food as well as other fusion food. All the dishes we ordered were intensely flavored and quite greasy, masking the flavors of the ingredients. The portions were gigantic and by the time we realized it and tried to cancel a dish, we were told it was too late. At the end, nothing stood out as outstanding.More

My new favorite restaurant in Honolulu. The chicken wings are incredible and try the scallop crudo shooters. We shared the wagyu beef with cucumbers cooked medium rare and so flavorful and perfectly plated and presented. We also had the cavalteli pasta which we enjoyed. It...is nice the way a chef comes to the table and presents each dish and answers any questions. Also, the cocktails are stand outs. We especially loved the bourbon and orange flavored called the P & L sour. and shout our to our server Rizalde who helped guide us through the menu and meal.More

I always try to get to The Pig and The Lady at least once a trip. Went solo and the only option for seating was the bar. Not a big problem but I said that I prefer a table. Not possible. I had a French...dip and a lemonade. Both very tasty but not very plentiful. The prices have gone up. The food is still very good. The vibe is more hipster bored.More

Highly recommend! This was by far the best meal we had in Hawaii during our two week stay. Nice rustic sort of cozy feel to the place. Service was excellent, - friendly, attentive, and helpful. Food was unique and very good! Definitely enjoyed our evening....Only disappointment was we couldn’t get a reservation to go again!More
