Went for a luncheon, there were about 30 of us in the party, so we had the private upstairs room. Wait staff was very efficient and attentive. Food was a set menu for all of us and the portions were just right, everything from the soup, salad, sashimi, entree and ice cream dessert. Everything went smoothly. The only hesitation is... More

This place has a reputation of good food. But this night the food was okay, but the staff was something to be desired. The Hostess need manners, the Manager came and apologized, no complimentary anything. BUT the waiter Chris was fantastic!!

Some people may complain about having to wait to eat and no reservations, but we had a party of 15 for a 90th birthday dinner and ate at 5am. So, you just have to be smarter at what time you want to eat to avoid the crowds. Ordered different sushi rolls, ahi and hamachi sashimi appetizers to start off. Loved... More

Our go-to comfort Japanese Cuisine. Appeals to the local diner with large selection from traditional Japanese to a modern Euro-Asian update. Their house salad dressing is addicting.

We waited 15 minutes to get in. They don't take reservations because they have no competition and are willing to make their patrons wait. When you are seated, it is obvious they are short staffed as our waiter had 8 tables. There was 1 busboy. We waited 45 minutes for our food which was average. One person in our party... More

We were a little lost and hungry and used the google feature - "Restaurants near me" which lead us to Gyotaku! There was a line up out the door so we thought we should check it out. It only took them 15 minutes to find us a table - we used that time to talk to the locals and get... More

Living in Asia and married to a Japanese I visited this resturant a little subdued and not really knowing what to expect here in Hawaii but what a surprise it was outstanding. The food is well and truly Japanise but with a creative twist which makes each dish an individual experience. Without question this resturant deserves Michelin recognition and if... More

This restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside but it is very nice on the inside. The food was delicious. Sushi is also served and there is a second floor.

I would not go back and order butterfish from the Senior Menu anymore. That piece I got was less than 3 inches long and about 1 1/2 inches wide for $13.95. I thought it was ridiculously small piece with a small portion of cabbage. It listed in Senior Menu for $10.95 but small print in add on $2.95 for butterfish... More
