Tucked away on a slightly out of the way corner in Honolulu is one of the best fine dining experiences I have had - and I have had a lot. Firstly the food was superb, the vegetable first course pleasing, the poached fish with aioli was inspired, the chicken excellent and the deserts were brilliant. The wine pairings were really... Chef Mavro is a "must dine" restaurant in Honolulu and I definitely recommend his signature dish, Onaga in salt crust. Not only is it absolutely delicious, the presentation is beautiful. I personally like the tasting menus with wine pairings. Each course meticulously prepared. An awesome experience for a special occasion and just as satisfying for an impromptu night out with... We had a lovely evening with wonderful service. The staff were all very professional and polite. The food was well prepared and the presentations beautiful. We also had the wine pairings and enjoyed our evening.

We had dinner here with some friends and it was a pleasant experience. The service was very attentive and as expected for a high end restaurant. We had the chef's tasting menu and it was very nice. It's been a while since we last had dinner there and I think the former ala carte menu was a better alternative than... More

One of the best meals I had while spending 10 days in Hawaii. Everything from the service to the food to the presentation was AMAZING!!!! The tasting menu is fantastic. The Wagyu beef was the most tender and delicious beef I have ever had in my life. The fork dropped through it without and resistance and it melted in my... More

We were on a family vacation in Waikiki for the second time in nine months. The first visit was for a one week vacation with the future in-laws, before our son's wedding to a Japanese scientist on the island of Maui. Her parents, who live in Japan, had never been to Hawaii, her father had never travelled by airplane before,... More

We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at Chef Mavro. The Gr ande Degustation with matching wines was outstanding and the staff were excellent. This is a high quality restaurant of the calibre of top restaurants in major capital facilities throughout the world. This is a place for those who understand and appreciate degustation dining and are willing to pay for... More

Excellent food that matches any good restaurant in New York City. We would return. The ambiance is elegant (maybe a little stuffy); the service is attentive (maybe a little too formal). Especially loved the quiet room. We were bummed by the wine pairing for the tasting menu - - would have really preferred to pick our own wine but the... More

We dined at Chef Mavro in Honolulu on 2nd January and had an absolutely memorable night. The food, décor and service was first rate and lacked nothing. My wife is Vegan and they catered for needs probably the best we had on a stay at Honolulu. We can't wait to dine there again again on our next visit.

We decided to splurge. Knew it was a top place with top prices, but our jaw dropped at the end of the evening. Six of us, tasting menu, premier wine pairing, Good service, lovely presentation, but VERY small portions. The women were fine, the men would have liked more than two bites in their main course. A bill of almost... More
