We were walking around near our hotel and saw La Cucaracha just down from the Hyatt and decided to give it a try. The place is VERY unasumming in looks. It's a walk-up, so don't even consider if you are wheelchair-bound. The food was served quickly, but was only middling in presenation and flavor. And for the 4 of us,... More

As we were going to La Cucaracha, and about to walk into the restaurant, another group was leaving, and told us not to bother! That the food was terrible. However, we didn't listen and still went in. Well.....we should have listened. We only had guacamole dip, which was totally overpriced for the small amount that was served. So, we didn't... More

I had the taco salad with shrimp, it was ok but mostly lettuce and rice and came with ranch dressing. I thought that was a little odd for Mexican. With my Diet Coke the bill came to $30 which I felt was overpriced. It was nice sitting out on the patio and the service was good.

The food was not Mexican, I could do better Mexican food at home. Had the Island Fish Tacos. They tasted the same as our "fish sticks" at home, the beans that came with the tacos had a funky weird taste. I ordered water along with me drink and had to ask for it before I got it. Note! The tip... More

The meals were good and we left the customary 15% tip without realising that we had already been charged 15% service charge which was itemised under the taxes section of the invoice. We only realised this on the 3rd visit to the restaurant when I had a closer look at the invoice and questioned the waitress for clarification. There were... More

Quaint restaurant located on 1st floor. Has a very mexican decor. Our server was very friendly and made us feel welcome. The food was very nice. If you like margaritas, you wont be sorry if you try a sangria margaritas.

Really good food! A tad overpriced, but so is everything in Waikiki. Wish they had a better happy hour! But great location and friendly service.

Wandered in and delighted to find a pretty quiet place without a bunch of tourists. Just transplants to hawaii that live locally. The food was good, the service very good. I will return any time i am in town and get tired of the overcrowded tourist scene.
