Planned to go elsewhere for special family dinner. Then met a couple at our hotel Royal Hawaiian who told us how great this place was. Food was good but our server was terrible. 10 minutes late with everything and would give us the minimum we asked for and then bolt away. She dropped some glasses early and started crying so... Early dinner with friends (5 PM) meant we lucked out and got a table instead of the bar. This place fills with local people so get there early. We enjoyed a plate of fried rice and fried pork chops. The servings are huge so it was plenty to feed three hungry men. The beer selection was excellent. The service was... More

Been here several times with friends and family. A great opportunity to visit a real local spot. Inexpensive, but really tasty. Go for the fried rice, the pork chops and various other dishes. Do not forget the super Mai Tais. some of the best on the island.

Our vacationing family went here last night when asking different locals where they eat and 3 out of 4 recommend! It was amazing food, portions were PLENTIFUL! We were family of four and ordered three items. Two would have been sufficient. But we wanted to try multiple things! Family style. Everyone was happy and restaurant was packed! Best meal so... We are foodies! This has to be the best local place in Waikiki/Honolulu. We came here with 10 people and ordered a lot of food. We couldn't eat it all. The portions are huge and every single dish was onolicious! Okay, the best dishes here; fried rice, pork chops and kalbi ribs. They are my top choices, but the chicken... More

If you're looking for casual, relaxed dining with family or friends, this is the place. You also won't miss out on the latest sports action. The pork chops and the fried rice are really, really good - sumptuous, savory and hearty. The chocolate lava cake takes 20 minutes, but is worth the wait.

We ate here for dinner on night. The place is incredible. Their fried rich is delicious as well as their teriyaki beef. We only order two items and were glad we didn't order more. The portions are huge and we still had lots left over. This would be a great place to come with a hungry crowd.

Found this place at the recommendation of a local. Had the grilled short ribs (fabulous) but they were completely overshadowed by the incredible, stupendous wonder of Da Works, the fried rice dish with kimchi, Portuguese sausage, spam, bacon, peas, every wonderful thing. It was a huge portion, enough for dinner for two. We couldn't finish, lamenting that it'd never be... More

We went to Side Street with some locals. This is not a touristy place although it is walking distance from Waikiki. Fairly small, modest interior, but boy is it popular! We ordered a few entrees family style. The mai tai was great and they have a good selection of beer. As you will find with many locals restaurants in Honolulu,... More

This is one of Honolulu's best restaurants, a fact known and treasured by locals but less visible and less known to tourists. Somewhat "out of the way" and certainly a bit removed from the bustle of Waikiki, this iteration of Side Street Inn is lively but not crazy. Amazing food, friendly servers. Expect to find the place full; it will... More
