The Beachhouse provides an environment where absolute guest satisfaction is their highest priority. They are focused on hospitality, great food, memorable views and a wonderful experience created by their passionate workers. One such passionate worker is an Irishman, "Pascal". Pascal works the breakfast shift and has been with the Beachhouse for many years. During our stay at the hotel, we had breakfast and Pascal was our server. You see, our little boy has a medical condition and it's difficult for him to stay calm and eat his food. Pascal was able to calm our little boy so he could enjoy his breakfast. I guess it's something in the tone of the Irishman's voice that was like magic to our son in calming him so he could eat and enjoy his breakfast and us too! If you want an environment where absolute guest satisfaction is a high priority, dine at the Beachhouse and be sure to ask for "Pascal" during breakfast hours.

While staying at the Moana Surfrider, my husband and I had dinner at the Beachhouse on our final night there. This was my favorite meal during our stay in Oahu. The prix fixe trend on the island in general was tricky for us since we don’t consider ourselves to be foodies. The food at the Beachhouse was simply delicious. I had a wonderful steak and my husband loved the kampachi. We could hear the live music on the porch coming from the main lobby and under the Banyan tree on Saturday night. Our waiter proactively offered to take our photo which I thought was a really nice gesture, reflective of the quality of the service we experienced throughout our stay. The pour they gave us on our drinks was worth the price.

My husband and I try to go to the Beachhouse at the Moana at least once a week to have breakfast on the Veranda. We work a lot, so starting our day off with the right breakfast is important. The food is always outstanding and the service is fantastic! We always request Paschal as our server. Paschal is delightful, has many years experience as a server and we consider him a great asset to the restaurant. He has just the right balance of friendliness and efficiency. He engages you with enough small talk to make you feel welcome, he is always observant in making sure that your are enjoying the food. He knows the menu and knows what to recommend. He's the kind of server who takes the extra step to make you happy. Add this to the best dining view on the Island on a beautiful winter day, and it adds up to perfection!

We were excited when we saw so many 4-5 star reviews and decided to go. The staff was amazing. The wine list was rather ho hum. The strip steak was tough. We ordered the additional thimble sized cup of au poivre sauce for $6.00 which was basically a brown gravy. Couldn’t find a single peppercorn in it. We were charged $14.00 for flat water!!!! Great ambience but horrible food.

Set on the veranda of the original Moana Surfrider hotel, the Beachhouse has great Old a world charm. Sadly, the Prix fixe dinner is served in a rush; much of it is cold; and all of it is uninspired. If you want a nice setting, go! If you want cuisine, do not.

This was our first meal after arriving in Waikiki late at night and it was a pure delight. The Moana Surfrider itself has a great feel to it overall and breakfast buffet at the at the veranda tops it off quite nicely . Beautiful view of Waikiki Beach ,the food presentation was all top Notch for a buffet . Minimal service as it was a Buffy but very engaging as well . It is not cheap but quality of food and the location are worth it .

I am normally a dedicated fan of this restaurant but this year they fell short on their special Valentine’s Day dinner. The menu was good but not exceptional. The service was rushed and seemed to be more concerned with turnover than allowing us to enjoy the experience. Several requests- such as for an additional napkin to replace the one with spill over from an overly full drink - were gladly accepted but never delivered. It felt more like a buffet than the rich cultured experience we had grown accustomed to. I never regret a large bill for a good meal but I truly had buyer’s remorse for this one.

I enjoyed a very nice afternoon tea at this venerable property. The service was great and the afternoon tea delicious. Anyone somewhat familiar with Honolulu would know that this hotel is one of the major centers for mass tourism in Waikiki, however unlike its direct rival, I found the quality of the food as well as the class of the service still very good. I had stayed there before and would again stay as well as dine at this property. They are now part of Marriott Bonvoy which is another perk.

The Beachhouse is part of the historic Moana Surfrider Hotel and it's a beautiful location. Seating at the Beachhouse is all outdoors and right on the beach. Service was always top notch and the food is delicious and carefully prepared and presented. It's not inexpensive...breakfast for two will be around $100 and dinner probably $200+. All things considered, it's probably worth it.

They serve a 3 or 4 course price fixed menu for dinner with a variety of choices. At first the lobster chowder came out cold, but was happily taken back and returned nice and hot. The short rib entrée was huge and very tender. The Ahi tartare was poke like and very fresh. They have a musician playing in the evenings there which is a nice touch. Service very attentive and friendly. I do believe most higher end restaurants are going out of their way to accommodate guests and have noticed this in many establishments.

The Moana Surfrider is one of the best places for Afternoon Tea on Oahu! Some of the best views coupled with some of the best tasting pastries make this a unique and unforgettable experience. The scones are very fresh and tender with a flaky exterior and the sandwich include a Crab salad Croissant, A roast Beef sandwich, Egg Salad Sandwich, and a few other items. On the sweet level, the aforementioned Scones are accompanied by freshly baked pastries that are sweet but not overwhelming. There is a nice selection of teas that should satisfy most including a decaffinated choice. The view is the highlight as your view is an endless blue ocean and a crisp clear sunny horizon. There are multiple seating areas with a good amount of servers to make sure you are attended to. My one suggestion is that, if available, request the seat on the Veranda as opposed to the lower decks. The veranda allows a more regal feel and upscale sensation though the views are identical. An excellent experience for those who enjoy the finer things in life and like to treat their palette!

Waiter’s trying to double up on tips. Ryan K charged 19% “service charge” and below the total, the bill states that gratuity is not included except for a service charge for parties of 6 or more. There was only 4 of us…and he charged 19% along with adding a note that no gratuity had been included. Quite misleading …. The Caesar salad consisted of 3-4 wilted lettuce leaves stacked in the center of a plate for $18usd. It was definitely not something I would recommend.

A blend on local - modern with traditional Afternoon Tea. What can I ask for in Hawaii?!? Having a cup of White Tea Serenade in a breezy veranda with a view of Waikiki Beach and Excellent Service with Extra Aloha. Menu includes assortment of tea sandwiches, scones with lilikoi (passion fruit) curd and Devonshire Cream, and assortment of desserts. Ending with a refreshing delight- Lemongrass Green Tea Sorbet. Perfect detour to complete a week of shopping.

Ate there last night, has reservations and was sat immediately with a beautiful view of the banzai tree. I chose the 4 course option for $105 - skipped the win - but chose the Caesar Salad, Tomato Buratta, Beef Filet Mignon, and the Citrus Tart for dessert. Food was absolutely delicious and I cleared every plate. The rolls before my salad was delicious as well. The ambiance was relaxed, low key, and romantic. There was a pianist playing music in the Vintage Room inside and a singer on the patio by the Beach Bar so lots of music around but nothing too loud or obnoxious. My server did a fantastic job of explaining each dish as it came out and the elements to it. Overall, a 5 star experience and one if in the budget and timeframe I’d High suggest you attend!

Dined at the Beach House while staying across the street at their sister hotel Sheraton Princess Kaiulani. The Surfrider is definitely more upscale, and being that we’re celebrating our wedding anniversary, we thought it would be nice to splurge a bit. Splurge we did because the 4 course dinner was $125/person before any alcohol, and the choices on the menu was downright ordinary (it’s a fixed price menu with only about 6 entree choices, along with choice of 2 appetizers and 1 dessert per person). The service from the booking staff and our server was great. We requested and got a table for two at the very front of the veranda looking out at the beach and ocean. With music and a big Banyan Tree in the background, the ambience doesn’t get any better. But, the food was really quite ordinary. We ordered the Kampachi (fish), and while the menu gave it a really fancy description, it came cooked Chinese style, in a soy sauce base with a bit of bok choy and shrimp fried rice. I could walk into a Chinese restaurant and get this, and get it better because this Kampachi was on the salty side. It really was a bit of a let-down. Not that it was bad, it wasn’t. It just didn’t have the wow factor in what is suppose to be a high-end restaurant. While I wouldn’t not-recommend this place, but unless you’re ok with plunking down a lot of cash to get ordinary, just to enjoy the opulence and the view, then maybe try somewhere else. Or, just go to the Beach Bar for a drink.
