Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Such a great place to go for so many different choices for food. They have a bakery for to go orders as well as a sit down area- inside and outside. Staff is wonderful and very helpful. Inside are a lot of pictures from old Hawaii and the bakery and prices are reasonable.

We recently stayed at the nearby Waikiki Beachcomber Resort and spotted the Liliha Bakery from our room above. The first day we chose to eat breakfast there, we couldn't decide what to order because when you first walk in, all of the tempting pastries and delights overwhelm you. That's a GOOD thing! The staff was very friendly. Our server "Mae" made us feel right at home and had a beautiful smile on her face the entire time we were there. I had the pancakes (which are enormous) and my wife had Spam and eggs. We ordered a couple of pastries to take back to our room with us. This place does get busy, so get there early if you'd like breakfast. There is patio seating which is nice and the restaurant itself is clean. Try the Ice Coffee Float! If I could take this place back with me to Arizona, I would do it in a heartbeat!

The prices are fair, and the portions are big. I had a 2 piece chicken which came with a couple of side of your choice. I was pretty hungry and was thinking of the 3 piece, but went with the 2 piece. Glad I did because I had to take leftovers home. It was white meat and large pieces. The most tender chicken I I have ever had. The baked goods are very dangerous if you are trying to watch your weight. I would absolutely recommend this place for the price, large portions, and top quality food.

We actually went to the location at Ala Moana Center. I was treating my coworker for he has helped me a lot at work. He even ordered desert. This place is popular for their Coco Puffs, Strawberry Jelly, etc...

I ordered via web page the steak and shrimp with salad substitute for rice due to dietary issue. Husband picked up for me and when I eagerly opened, I was disappointed to find that not only was I given wrong order, the one I was given was very unappealing and bland. I therefore could not eat. He immediately called to advised we got wrong order to be put on hold and no one assisted us after calling a few times. So I went to talk to manager, Erwin and District Manager Julianne. They accused me of lying about order and wanted me to bring it on for them to see it. I advised if they answered my calls and not left me on hold I would have known to bring it and take photos of it. It's a 25 dollar meal which they acted like it was fine dining. I expected an apology and a redo, I didn't need refund. They treated me with such disrespect and refused to acknowledge mix-up. Please be warned if ordering online, be careful check your order and take pictures. Also, food was not good. I suggest avoiding this place at all cost. I found BIg City Diner to be a way better place and they value thier customers.

We stumbled on this place according and had to return! The staff including Mae, Peter and John Paul were all excellent. The food was wonderful- the breakfast offered a wide variety and the kimchi fried rice and corned beef hash were great.

This bakery and restaurant is located in the top level of the International Market Place. It's expensive, but well worth it. Because it's inside of a large building, you can't see it from the street, but it's very near to Waikiki and an easy walk from there. Take the escalator to the top the International Market Place and you will find it along with their companion restaurant which we did not have time to eat at, but it looked really good based on a review of the menu and it appeared many of the people inside were locals. The bakery was so awesome we can't even tell you what to get; I mean, there are no. bad choices. Of note, if you take it to go, your hands are going to be sticky as there is almost no way to eat these delectable treats without getting sticky. We have a rule on vacation; don't go to the same restaurant twice...we broke our rule!

Former local boy here so in the know. You will notice that the reviews for Liliha are all over the place. The truth is it all depends on where you go. The original location can’t be beat, but I have had good meals at the International Village too. The bakery itself is great and consistent, but I would stick to the local specialties like the poi mochi donuts, the coco puffs and the amazing malasadas especially the apple and Haupia. The rest you can get back home. The restaurant can be good, but it depends on what you order and the staff serving you. Again, It’s all over the place. I have had the best luck with lunch than over the dinner and breakfast menus. I recommend the BLT croissant sandwiches, the Saimin (local style ramen) and burgers.

We read very good reviews of the newer Liliha bakery in the international marketplace in Waikiki and were excited to try it. Our previous experience with malasadas was at Leonard’s food truck by Waikele outlet stores. Sorry to say, Liliha’s malasadas don’t compare. Leonard’s are hot and fresh and to die for! These were big (the size of a bagel), cold and very unexceptional. Cream puffs also blah. Maybe their meals are better, but wouldn’t go there again for malasadas.

Sadly this place had nothing for me. I have an allergy to dairy, and they didn’t even have almond/coconut/oat milk for a coffee. I feel like I’m 2023 (almost 2024) restaurants should adjust to accommodate ALL. The server explained they didn’t have for me, not even toast. They only have butter rolls. I won’t be coming back.

We had a very pleasant, enjoyable informal dinner here. They have a large menu with a lot of variety, and the prices are very reasonable, by Honolulu standards.
