Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Love this place!!! We came here for breakfast for my friend’s birthday. From fresh roasted, single estate Kona coffee to authentic French pastries everything was absolutely worth a try. The staff is always amazing. Food was so delicious. We didn’t even get all the pictures...we usually do but we kept ordering round after round of good eats!!! Highly recommend it!More

Excellent coffee and pastries which are a bit of heaven. The long line moves fairly quickly. My only regret is the calories and the fact I have to limit myself to one trip here every time I visit Waikiki.

Have gone several times and coffee is usually very good. This time I ordered two lattes and they tasted like warm milk with very little coffee taste... I called when I got back to hotel to let them know and left a message... I came...back and such poor service from the dark haired fellow... He just seemed annoyed and gave me a shot of expresso.... Will be going to Honolulu Coffee from now on.... Julie is great and makes great sandwiches .....More

Pastries taste great, which explains long queues you can always see in the store. If you are interested buying some store items like coffee beans or mugs, you can skip the line and order together with coffee / pastries.

Overrated, expensive and we just couldn’t understand what the fuss was about. Didn’t enjoy the food and the coffee was horrible.

Kona Coffee Purveyors is definitely a bit over-rated. The espresso is good but not great (probably a 7 on 1-10 scale). The pastries are excellent (8.5 or even 9 on a 1-10 scale), albeit small. I waited 49 minutes in line to order. It was...perhaps worth trying, but I would definitely not wait 49 minutes again -- it was not *that* good. If you're okay with a smaller pastry selection, try going in the afternoon when the lines are shorter. The morning lines are far too long.More

Across the road from our hotel and we were intrigued when we saw the huge line to get in. Good coffee and delicious pastries. (Go early to avoid the wait)

This was right by the Moana Surfrider and was a great place to get a morning coffee and pastry. They were quick and everything was delicious. Highly recommend stopping in and trying it.

Don’t worry about the line you will encounter because once you enter and place your order all worries or uncertainty will melt away with the heavenly smell of the coffee and baked goods they sell. I won’t say get this or this but just to...tell you to try what ever your hearts desire because it is all excellent. A good quick breakfast and the best coffee on the island.More

Worth the line. Coffee and goodies are fantastic. Retail items are awesome takeaways from Waikiki. Staff is friendly and highly motivated. An essential coffee stop!

Easily the best coffee in town, with a great selection of pour over beans. They also do the best cappuccino we had in all of Hawai’i. Next to this they have rather good pastries that aren’t as sweet as the normal American cakes, croissants, etc....We’ve visited a couple of times and the quality was consistent throughout visits.More

The best coffee ever! Don’t wait in line. If you are going to buy something (coffee beans, tee shirt) you can skip the line. Go to the counter on the right to pay for your item and order your coffee there too. Thanks to Sandra...for this tip!!More

We can’t resist visiting here every day of our stays to Hawaii. The food is amazing and it’s worth the sometimes very long waits. Try everything, nothing ever disappoints

Our son recommended Kona for good coffee. Seems it has had a lot of recommendations as the line was very long at 8.30am in the morning. Coffee alternatives are good and there's a range of pastries. Lots of sugar going in in most of them...however. Limited indoor and outdoor seating is available. We found better alternative bakeries during our stay however. Not sure the waiting times are worth it.More

Just short of $5 for a Large Cafe Latte. The pastries are exceptional and all made on site, they range from around $4. If you are a fussy coffee drinker like me, Kona provides a more authentic latte, especially when... More
