Fine dining at a very reasonable price in an historic setting. Sunday Brunch menu was full of delights. I enjoyed the Cranberry Pecan French Toast followed by Ginger Apricot Sorbet for dessert. Ambiance in the dining room was lovely and the service was just right and very friendly -- thank you, Elizabeth!

It was exciting to eat in a tavern where so much history has occurred. I was seated by the fireplace in the lovely dining room. The waitress was friendly and let me take pictures, and explore the upstairs rooms. She even took a picture for me. My meal of a vegetarian BLT and chowder was delicious. I truly enjoyed my... More

We stopped for a drink in the lovely bar. The service was pleasant and polite. Drinks are not cheap, but worth the price in order to soak up the colonial atmosphere.

The place is lovely. The food is good and the prices are average. It's a good complement to the tour of the historic houses.

My wife and I went to the White Horse Tavern on Saturday, April 15. We had a 6pm reservation, table for 2. We were seated in a table right by the door, where people would be walking by us constantly. I looked around the room, and saw three other tables for 2, and asked if she could move us to... More

Authentic Restaurant. Old beams, Floors, low Ceilings, etc all.....mildly Surprised. Decent wine list/full drink menu. Food was very good--special Apps (Razor clams casino(pictured) & Smoked bluefish pate) were great. Mains were Special Lamb & menu Duck--both great too. Desert bread pudding worth the effort too. Service was great. Parking was easy--off the Main road

I made reservations based on trip advisor for a few day trip for my wife's birthday. Especially for the price this place was terrible. Worst meal we had in Newport.

Went for dinner to celebrate anniversary. Food was disappointing. My husband ordered well done steak, which came medium. Side dish a mountain of french fries. I had swordfish, wish was dry and too salty. Atmosphere is ok, very old dark tavern.

We had a reservation and we're seated promptly. Food was good , portions a little on the small side. Wife got Lobster Mac and Cheese and I got the Cuban rueban sandwich. Molly was an excellent waitress. Worse thing about this place was there were kids running around. Now this was on a Saturday during lunch and I don't hold... More

We had a wonderful meal at the White Horse Tavern. Duck, striped bass, and raw littlenecks. The littlenecks were as fresh as could be. Mmmm. The service was attentive, and the historic atmosphere was the best. It is quiet, and not at all like the places on Thames Street. I don't agree that this place is expensive. It is commensurate...
