A great place for sitting outside watching the world go by and having some tapas. My wife and I sat inside the last time we visited and although the food was good I missed the outdoor experience. A lot of their tapas are very good. the baked avocado, the mussels and ceviche were just fine. We went nuts on desserts... More

We went mainly for the Flamenco, which was less than wonderful. Very so-so. But, the tapas were excellent though a tad limited. Good variety and tasty. We also ordered main dishes, neither of which were all that great. If we were to go again, we'd ask to be seated in the bar and stick to tapas and enjoy whatever live... More

Great Spanish restaurant , service is great, tapas are soo good , we had the Serrano from the cold tapas on that one you don't get enough Serrano ham , but it's complimented with manchego cheese and membrillo along with some roasted veggies . We also had the pincho tapa that was delicious , good portion too. The flavors are... More

Decided to try El Farol Xmas Eve since it is in the center of Canyon Road. They were doing 3 seatings that evening. We chose the 7p and apparently along with everyone else. We arrived just before 7p to find people standing outside waiting for the folks from the 5p seating to leave. Either we had bad luck or our... More

Reservations only, $69 for a 4 course meal only for that night. We were vegetarian and were told we would get a good meal. Choosing soup or salad, only salad was veg. Appetizer was 2 of the 3 choices for veg so that was good. 3rd course was all meat. Our server brought a pasta dish that was just pasta.... More

El Faro is a venerable institution that assured good food and drink whenever one stopped by. Not last week. I had heard that the long time owner had the place up for sale. Perhaps it has been sold. Whether sold or not it is being ignored. The tapas was thrown together without inspiration and served barely warmed up. The margaritas... More

The atmosphere is so lovely here, it's a great place to at least get a drink and enjoy their local music. The food is pretty good - standouts were the flash-fried avocado and paella. And this is coming from a girl who really doesn't like cooked avocado. Their fish was cooked really nicely in the paella, and the calamari was... More

I spent a week in NM and this was one of my favorite meals while in town. Everything was delicious. Enjoyed several small plates and a Mexican coffee to warm up on a very chilly day. The fried avocado is a must! If you are visiting Canyon Road, you need to stop here!

My husband and I were at El Farol for New Year's Eve, and not only was the service pretty bad (we felt rushed out...from a New Year's dinner with a midnight champagne toast), but the food was sub-par. We paid for a four-course meal and the first two courses came out at the same time, followed almost immediately by the... More

My husband and I made dinner reservations for 6:30 NYE. Being fans of Flamenco music and dance we also wanted to see the 8:00 show for the extra $25 each. It was a prix fixe menu and more filling than I thought it would be. We each ordered the same courses: salad, flash fried avocado (omg), prime rib, and flourless... More
