The old bobcat bite was better with a nicer more authenic location. More variety not as good. Not as much fun.

This place used to be Bob Cat Bite off Old Pecos Trail. We were disappointed that we never got to go when it was at that location because we heard such great things about it. When it reappeared as Santa Fe Bite on Old Santa Fe Trail we were excited to be able to try it. Well, we didn't think... More

We have overlooked this restaurant for years to our detriment, there is a reason this diner has received numerous accolades for its green chili cheeseburger, one of the best I have eaten in quite a long time. Also get the homemade potato chips, absolutely the best! Service was as good as the food they serve.

The Food Network and TV chefs rate these green chile cheeseburgers the best in town and we won't argue. Santa Fe Bite is the reincarnation of the famed Bobcat Bite, a little joint outside of town that earned considerable fame for their burgers. First, they're huge, the meat cooked perfectly according to descriptions on the menu (a nice pink medium... More

I have to admit, I was a little disappointed in this one. It dots the I's & crosses the T's as far as quality, cleanliness and service are concerned but that's about it. I had seen this restaurant featured on a food/travel show when it was still the Bobcat Bite and probably in another location and it got added to... More

Not sure why you would order one anywhere other than here at Santa Fe Bite. Pay no attention that it's the restaurant adjoining the lobby of an older motor lodge on the south edge of downtown Santa Fe; this place is solid! Very casual environment, friendly service, and great food. We both ordered the green chili cheeseburger, and weren't disappointed.... More

This restaurant was a spin off from the Bobcat bite in Santa Fe. The owners opened this new restaurant in town but only the name changed. The burgers and food are still amazing..

We all had some type of hamburger, myself, I tried the green chile cheeseburger and it did not disappoint. Somehow they managed to keep the beef juicy while cooking it medium-well. They serve potato chips instead of french fries, which, for the price of the burger seems cheap to me. Fries are $2.50 extra. Service was very rushed at lunch.... More

A must for the green chili cheeseburger. Fantastic. They will add bacon if you like but it is unnecessary. Pretty good selection of local craft brews. Excellent milkshakes for the non drinkers.

Went by this eatery while in a tour bus and the well known icon driving the bus said this is where she was eating after the tour. We all went with her and had one of their famous burgers. Definitely worth the time. Enjoy!!

Description
The Famous Green Chile Cheeseburgers are back! John and Bonnie Eckre, formerly of Bobcat Bite, are taking their food to the next level at the new Santa Fe Bite located inside Garrett's Desert Inn on Old Santa Fe Trail. In addition to their savory Green Chile Cheeseburgers, Santa Fe Bite features fresh tacos, fish and chips, sandwiches, a choice of French or sweet potato fries and a little something they like to call 'The Big Bite' that comes with a side of buttery garlic bread. Creamy milkshakes and homemade lemonade are just some of the sweet treats popping up on their new menu. Also, we are now serving beer and wine. Santa Fe Bite opens at 8am Saturday and Sunday which means early birds can sample tasty Breakfast menu offerings like hot cornmeal pancakes with maple syrup, brioche French toast with maple caramel sauce and house-made biscuits with Mom's gravy. Spend a leisurely Sunday outside at Santa Fe Bite. The new Brunch menu includes eggs benedict, Steak & Eggs and Huevos Rancheros.
