We arrived late at night to the Duck Soup Inn and they could not have been more welcoming! The food is fantastic and definitely pushes the tastes of the fresh ingredients available and the ambience is extremely cozy. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area!

I live on SJI and have enjoyed this restaurant many times. It was my very favorite spot. Expensive, but wonderful service, delicious and unusual food, and fair prices for what you get. I even chose this quaint spot for my cake-and-punch wedding reception in July 2016. The reception seemed to go quite well, at the time. The finger foods and... More

This quaint little restaurant near Friday harbor was a surprising treat. The building felt like a fairy treehouse and the food tastes like heaven. The menu was comprised of local, healthy, but delicious choices. I had the smoked salmon and corn chowder to start, and organic fennel gnocchi, as well as local vegetables shared with the table. For dessert I... More

We have visited Duck Soup Inn several times over the past 4 years and until now have always raved about our experience. However, they have made some serious changes recently and DSI no longer lives up to the bar previously set. Hence we offer... know before you go. The food is very unique but the menu is very limited. If... More

Great dinner on highway to Roche Harbor about halfway from Friday Harbor. Pleasant staff and setting. Would return every time we return to San Juan Islands in future.

The food was good and some of it exotic. The cocktail I had was yummy and the entree was ok. Though they have vegetarian "options", there was not much that interested me on the menu. I didn't like the booth because my legs were dangling as I am but 5'3". I suggest if your on the shorter side to get... More

Although it's been 4 years since we've gone to Duck Soup Inn, it was a favorite of ours, and we've been there many times, so since we were in town, we decided to go there once again. Our first disappointment, was everything on the menu is ala carte, including the bread. Prices were high on all the food, the waitress... More

This was an odd little restaurant. Getting there is difficult and fortunately we traveled in the sunlight to find our way. I still wonder what happened to our original server. After we were seated, someone else showed up and assured us they would soon take our drink order. And then we waited...and waited...and waited still some more. I have been... More

The atmosphere combined with the menu and service create a truly perfect evening! The beautifully presented fare and wonderful flavor combinations leave one feeling that they've found the best spot on the island.

It is with regret that I write this review, because Duck Soup Inn used to be our favorite restaurant on San Juan Island. The previous owner was a woman whose specialty was soup, thus the name. The menu was not large, but there were always a dozen or so entrees to choose from, all of them familiar to the average... More
