This is the oldest restaurant in San Antonio. Great spot - just off the River Walk - for lunch. Homemade root beer, yummy deviled eggs (a specialty), and great sandwiches. Highly recommend! And our server Lisa was friendly, accommodating, and extremely attentive -- stellar service!

We ate breakfast here and glad we did. We were looking for something different and found it. Friendly service and large portions. I will come back if in the area.

It is a very nicely decorated beerhouse/german restaurant, that is supposed to be one of the oldest in San Antonio, had a pint of good texan beer, and a reuben sandwich which was very nice, although light years away from the ones I have tried...More

The food was delicious. The service started out rocky, but we had a party of 16. It smoothed out quickly, and ended up having great service.

Thank you so much! For folks with groups over 15, you may call the restaurant to see if our back room is available. If it is, we will try to accommodate larger groups (15-30) in that area.

Try the root beer! A great place with a neat history. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. Definitely recommend the pretzels with spicy mustard.

We did Schilo’s for a late breakfast on A Sunday morning. Not often you get to eat in a restaurant which has been around for 100 years! The cracked, sloping floor makes you feel more like you are in Ripley’s Funhouse around the corner. But...More

We arrived the restaurant to have lunch with a large group of 24 persons. The manager on duty quickly set about arranging tables co-located for our large group. The corned beef sandwich was delicious and everyone else seemed pleased with their food. The atmosphere is...More

Great 👍 food ~ but long wait! We waited over 45 minutes for our order . Thankfully the management before we even asked discounted our tabs. That was impressive! I would suggest the breakfast tacos! Amazing

It is inevitable for the restaurant to get overwhelmed at moments, but THRILLED to hear our staff was proactive at addressing the situation. Glad you had an overall great experience! Come back again soon!

The Riverwalk is so convenient and enjoyable that any hotel is a pleasant walk to get there. I don't remember which would be the closest, if walking is difficult for you, but if not, it's no more than a ten or fifteen minute... More
