we always try a different restaurant when visiting and last week we choose this one. Arrived shortly after they opened at 5:30 pm, it was nice and quiet with low lighting. We chose the chicken fried oysters for an appetizer- they were small but tasty. I didn't like either of the mixed cocktails that we ordered - pineapple martini and... More

This is our favorite place to go before a show downtown. Only four blocks to the Majestic theater and on street parking is usually available between Abigail and the courthouse. I had the pork ribs which were delicious while the wife had the beef tenderloin. We thought her grapefruit salad was great. We had caramel chocolate cake with strawberries. This... More

We love going here when we can! A big out of the way for us but we love it. Everything they offer from the bread basket to wine to entree to desert is outstanding! Our server was a bit overwhelmed with tables but communicated with us and we never felt left out. It was great! Fried oysters with squid ink... More

My wife and I celebrated her birthday with a dinner at Biga. We were given a lovely romantic table in a corner with a view of the street. It was a nice touch. Our meal was great and they topped it off with a birthday desert that was fantastic. We were well taken care of and I would recommend this... More

Based on the reviews I saw I was expecting a great dinner with an atmosphere to match. I was definitely underwhelmed by the food and the atmosphere. Maybe the area we had for the group is not indicative of the whole restaurant but I felt like I was in an old hotel conference room. Nothing elegant about it at all.... More

Even after all these years, Biga on the Banks continues to be our favorite in San Antonio. Pricey, but great value for the always fantastic food and service. Perfect for special occasions. Lovely location on the Riverwalk in the City's former Main Library and, now, the International Center. Can't go wrong with any of the dishes but the beef tenderloin... More

This restaurant is beautiful and elegant. Much higher end than I expected. But it was very good. Great food, great bar area and right on the (quieter side of the) Riverwalk. There is both inside and outside seating.

While the meal was absolutely amazing and just popping with flavor, the drinks were also very interesting and yummy. Service and atmosphere top notch. If you are a foody, then this is a must do.

We had heard Biga On The Banks was one of the finer restaurants in San Antonio so I chose it for the place to have our NYE Dinner. It was a fixed price of $65 per which included a 4 course dinner. Since it was a beautiful night out, we opted to have our meal by the Riverwalk in the... More

Great food. Great Wine List. Great Service. We had the froie gras and lamb chops. Both were 5 star. It is expensive but the experience was worth it. Stay away from restaurants on the Riverwalk.
