The students of the American Culinary Institute based in the Pearl District run Nao. We had an amazing lunch and met a very impressive array of students working as cooks, waiters, etc. The food was very good, the flatbread w/ the smoked tomato sauce was exceptional. Highly recommend a visit.

This is a great area full of restaurants, most of which seem to be full. This one gets your attention because of the signage and outdoor seating. It's good Latin cuisine.

Looking for a taste of Latin America (not Mexican or Tex-Mex but the rest of the continent? This is your place. Knowledgeable service that can walk you through what's on the menu. Why, because they are the CIA students who are the chefs, waiters, etc of this Restsurant. It's fun and a real culinary treat. Great lunch

The rebirth of the old Pearl brewery as a mixed use shopping/drinking/eating/ living neighborhood is something to witness. It has steampunk charm, especially the Hotel Emma, old tanks and pipes turned into fountains and architectural features. Nao came highly recommended by a friend of a friend and the highlight of dinner was the duck carnitas dish, which was succulent and... More

Student run restaurant onky shows by the fresh faces. The foid and menu is creative and fresh. Loved every morsel. We had the ceviche the skiry steak skewers and a big salad. Good wine and beer choices. Loved all of it. Reasonable prices to boot. Highly recommended.

When visiting the Pearl don't overlook the NAO tucked away on a side pathway. The menu is fresh and includes a good array of dishes all served to please any palate. We found the prices to be very reasonable and the quality of food and service excellent. The students are in their last semester and beam with excitement about what... More

As the restaurant for the CIA you would expect good food, and Nao does not disappoint. From the craft cocktails at the bar (I recommend the Pisco sour) to the Latin inspired entrees, this is a solid choice in the Pearl.

If you are ever traveling in Napa, Hyde Park NY or San Antonio make sure you visit the Culinary Institute's training facilities. Nao was excellent and my suggestion is order two or more entrees and split them. Food was well prepared and the staff excellent.

Ate at Nao for the first time today at lunch and it was very good. The waitress was pleasant and attentive. Restaurant was very bright, clean and inviting. We all had sandwiches, and they were all delicious and inventive. The CIA students are graduating in two weeks and they are definitely worthy of a CIA diploma.

I've eaten at Nao several times since it opened and for the most part i've been surprised by its very average fare. Nao is, after all, the restaurant extension of the adjacent Culinary Institute of the Americas and features a variety of latin dishes, some of which are very good but overall it's on the lower end of Pearl's array...
