Friendly, prompt service, varied menu, and everything is delicious. Salads are inventive and there's an extensive , affordable wine list.Another plus is that its not overly loud so one can have a conversation.

Really nice place to dine. Food is as described exactly. No surprises except the nice service with a smile. Everyone was very happy with the meals, service, wine and atmosphere. Could be a bit romantic with a tiny bit of thought.

If you are a San Antonio local or a visitor who want to step off the beaten tourist path, a bistro in the heart of the city’s North Side is one of our favorites. Frederick’s Bistro, one of two excellent eatery’s owned by Frederick Costa, reflects the French-Vietnamese fusion of its owner. (It’s sister, Frederick’s Restaurant, which is located closer... More

The services, food and menu is one of the best "special night out" restaurants in San Antonio. The food is high end gourmet, cooked to perfection. Always greated at the door, the environment is low lighting, lovely dark wooden walls with the stark contrast of clean white linens. The wait staff is knowledgeable with most of the staff long standing... More

I met a friend here for lunch, and we enjoyed a wonderful meal complimented by a wonderful server named Kaitlin (Katie). The trio lunch of half sandwich, soup and salad seems pricey, but it's a lot of food. Katie was attentive, professional and fun. When I got home I told my guy about my great service at lunch. We wound... More

My husband and I went to this restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We thought we'd try something different than our usual celebration restaurant. As soon as we walked in the door we were hand motioned to come to the waiter in the dining area, asked if we had a reservation (we did not - it was 6:00 on a... More

Frederick Costa, the Owner of Frederick's Bistro was raised in an environment of wonderful food and hospitality. Growing up in both in Indochina and France, his parents, Henri and Odette owned highly acclaimed gourmet restaurants in both countries. As a young man he not only learned the secrets of French and Asian cuisine's, but also the true meaning of hospitality and customer service. Customers of Frederick's Bistro will say that visiting the restaurant is like walking into your best friend's home. You feel completely welcomed and special on every visit.

After working in the family restaurants for many years, Frederick sought formal training at the Flo Brasserie in Paris. From there he came to the United States and to San Antonio in 1984. In 1985 he opened the very popular L'Etoile restaurant. After several years with L'Etoile, Frederick sought to blend the flavors and diverse cultures of the lands he grew up in. His parents operated both French and Indochinese restaurants and the fusion of both cuisines intrigued him. In 2000, he opened Frederick's Restaurant in Alamo Heights and in 2008 Frederick's Bistro in Northwest San Antonio. The results are dining experiences that have become legendary for area residents and visitors.

You and your guests will truly experience fine dining at Frederick's Bistro in San Antonio. At Frederick's Bistro we offer a wide variety of gourmet dishes and an exquisite selection of wines and beverages. In addition to the wonderful cuisine, you will experience the service that is uniquely Frederick's. Be it lunch or dinner, your dining experience at Frederick's Bistro will be one that you are not soon to forget.
