That was the most authentic Mexican food I've ever had. The flavors wow!. The atmosphere was beautiful. All those different rooms each decorated so warmly and colorful. The Sangria was excellent. The servers friendly. You serve yourself from the Chips and Dips bowls and enjoy a cocktail at the bar while waiting for your table. I can't wait to visit... More

Quite good food and service on a busy Friday evening. Drinks were also good, though several margaritas were on the sweet side and needed a bit of balance.

This place was packed when we went and that was a Thursday night. But it was worth the wait. Food was delicious. The service was great. The waiter was not overly friendly but very nice and the food was great. Great Margaritas too!! I will definitely eat here again when I make it back to Tucson!

My wife and I waited more than 10 minutes for water and then another 10 before we asked where our margaritas were, to be told "they are being blended." They came shortly but had no citrus flavor at all, just weak or watered down. My wife drank hers, which was the same, but I returned mine for a beer. The... More

This is the place to go for great authentic Mexican food. The wait staff is very helpful and suggested we try a sample of the beef before deciding on our order. My husband had the margarita and thought it the best he's had. Family friendly. Parking is the biggest issue for dining here but worth the effort!

What's not to like? Definitely not "TexMex", El Charro has an authentic traditional and creative menu. Owner-operated by one family for 80 years, in a historic neighborhood. Extensive appetizers, soups, main dishes. Every one tastes great! Excellent service in rooms in renovated houses. Moderate prices. Street parking, free. Check them out online!

Decided to try on the recommendation of a local acquaintance so expectations were high. Came in for an early dinner and we discovered it is good to be early as the place fills up fast at dinnertime. Had trouble finding someone to seat us. Waiters sent us to various doors and still found no one to seat us. On third... More

We had no reservation but were promptly seated. Drink orders were taken and quickly delivered. The restaurant was very busy. As we were leaving there was a line waiting to be seated. The food was served as ordered. It was hot and the portions were more than generous. Our server was very attentive even though he was very busy serving... More

My sister and I decided to go to El Charro for our birthday lunch. She was excited because she had never been, I was too, however, it became the WORST experience at a restaurant that we had ever had. We were sat in a back corner, right by the kitchen, where the door swings open. Immediately, I foresaw the potential... More

We had lunch on a Tuesday and arrived before the restaurant was very busy (although it filled up in the hour+ we were there). Food was decent, but did not live up to the hype...and service was SUPER slow. The restaurant layout also left you feeling a bit crowded. Overall, it was o.k., but I wouldn't be rushing back any...
