Excellent value for dinner menu. We tried the oysters, scallops & fish and chips. I would return to Providence for the scallops here! Wait staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgable. They are also open for breakfast, but it is overly expensive for breakfast and not...More

The best thing of this restaurant is that is really well located and if you stay in Biltmore hotel it is accessible from the hotel hall. The food is normal but the staff wasn't so kindly with us.

Without a question, our waiter Thomas made our evening very enjoyable. We were a group of 8 that included w/ two 2y/o toddlers, a vegetarian, and one person that had some food allergies. Not only did he keep the conversation light and enjoyable (kept us...More

We were going to see Yanni. Needed place near Concert hall to grab a bite before the concert. Found M&S two blocks away. Had the Bar Bites and drinks. We are vegan so choices were limited. Alex the bartender was great. He picked foods that...More

Our great meal here: Beavertail Oysters, Seared Sea Scallops, Signature Herb-Crusted Snapper, and a bottle of Pine Ridge white, convinced us, once and for all, that this chain does a better job with seafood than Legal Seafood. A larger assortment of oysters would be our...More

After a long day exploring Providence, my wife and I were looking forward to a nice meal at the main restaurant at the Providence Biltmore. Unfortunately, our waiter was lacking attention to our needs. If it was not for the assistance of the manager, we...More

Family group of 3 generations enjoyed very tasty seafood entrees. Seated promptly but things slowed once seated. Wait times for appetizers, drinks and entrees seemed excessive. It was a busy Saturday night but early. Started with oysters which were very tasty. Salads well made and...More

Excellent food and service. A quiet place in busy Providence restaurant scene during midweek at lunch time. Perfect business meal without the noise of other local places. Attentive staff and management.

I was unimpressed with this place. Trying to be fancy by being pricey and all dressed up but not fancy in the food. When I asked for a plain dinner salad they just removed all the ingredients from a salad and still charged me full...More

Description
The history of McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants began when Bill McCormick purchased Jake's Famous Crawfish Restaurant located in Portland, Oregon, and brought the more than 100-year-old landmark back to life. When asked the secret of how he revitalized a restaurant on the brink of closing, McCormick says, "I like nothing better than being a good host." Part of the managerial talent McCormick tapped was Doug Schmick, a management trainee. The two formed a partnership in 1974, creating Traditional Concepts, a precursor to today's McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants. In 1979, they opened the original McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant in Portland, Oregon. Since that time, the company has expanded to more than 80 restaurants across the country. The combination of an open imagination and a respect for tradition are what makes McCormick & Schmick's the classic and successful business that it is today.
