It seems to get more and more difficult to find truly good New Mexican food. Well, today (1/25/17), I found some! Another source, thank goodness. Not only that, the prices are fantastic. I love chili, so when something or someone claims to get my chili fix, it better be good! It was. There are two types of so-called Mexican food.... More

New owners (local) have taken over. Good news is that the food is still plentiful and still very good. They now feature Buenos Foods Autumn Roast Chile - it's spicier than before and better tasting. The service is still fast and friendly and the prices won't set you back much.

Had the Friday special "Frito Pie". It was definitely fresh and homemade. Good portion and tasty. They have other items on the menu that I've got to try.

Ran across this place by accident. A little hole in the wall with some of the best food I've run across in New Mexico. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are huge. We got there around 11:30 on a Tuesday and by the time we left there was a wait. From what we could tell many of the... More

Mick's is truly a "find." I read a review in our paper several weeks ago and decided to give it a try. It's in an industrial area not near anything that we would ordinarily visit. The building itself is on the south side of Candelaria and can easily be missed as the sign needs a little work. It doesn't look... More

Mick's Chile Fix is a simple diner located off of the beaten path in an industrial section of Albuquerque, NM. Open for breakfast and lunch only, Mick's offers delicious food served in huge portions for a modest price. We tried the Combination Plate and Taco Plate; both were yummy. Green chile was hot and each meal came with a warm... More

This little place serves generous portions of good home-style food at a bargain price. The service is fast and friendly and the daily specials are fantastic. They are open from 7 am to 2 pm Mondays thru Saturdays.

We go to Mick's for big, New Mexican breakfasts, and they are big. I'll take half the bulging, smothered burrito home. The green chile has a hot bite to it. It is probably cooked with some flour or corn startch giving it a smooth consistency rather tan the "pure chopped chile style. The red hasa a delicious flavor, so I... More
