Stopped in on a weeknight around 7pm for a pie and some beers. They have several crusts to choose from and we decided on the multigrain, Golden Crown pizza. Couldn't have been happier with the service, atmosphere and food! They also have a great selection of local beer.

We were leaving old town and drove by Golden Crown Bakery and my wife said that we had to stop. So we did and we were glad we did. DDD did a segment there some years back and they lived up to the hype. A small intimate dining area. About 8 tables. We had a pepperoni pizza on a blue... More

They start off by giving you a free cookie and they deliver with quality baking. Very small, very "informal" setting with limited parking in a bit off the beaten path area about a mile from old town. Not really set up for large crowds or families - better if you plan on take out. Cozy, diner type seating for a... More

I am hooked on fruit empanadas since my grandmother made them in my childhood. This bakery comes the most close to duplicating this deleesh delight. I travel 17 miles to get my "empanada" fix. A little pricey and so it keeps my palate under control. Otherwise I would be there every day, munching!

We ate a lot of biscochitos and fruit empanadas. We ordered pizza one night and weren't much impressed but we're from Chicago so maybe we're spoiled. We like our thin crust crispy and this was tough and bendy.

Everything is fresh and well made. Wide selection of empanadas and breads. Since it is a Panaderia, things are less sweet than most gringos are used to but everything we've tried has been great. May be the friendliest bunch in town. They're usually jam-packed around lunch time but their regulars seem to enjoy the chaos. I prefer to drop by... More

This is an evolving downtownish eatery that started out just selling baking and selling bread and has now moved into a real destination place for fun foods especially pizza. Located in an older, somewhat run down part of town, it is a great place to explore the 12th st area of historic homes and then relax with a great cup... More

This hidden gem is one of the local treasures. The bread, cookies, and pastries are excellent. They make a loaf of cinnamon bread, baked in a tube mold with a pecan studded interior, that is not too sweet (toast and french toast made at home from this bread = fantastic). The pizza and sandwiches are all yummy. If you are... More
