CLOSED - does not exist. We were so looking forward to trying out a Diner's Drive-Ins and Dives restaurant and were unable to do so - all boarded up - looks like they may have had a kitchen fire ..... so can't say much more than rats!

This place is consistently excellent, whether for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Everything freshly prepared and delicious. I thoroughly recommend their breakfast burritos, their fish tacos, and their duck enchiladas.

Don't let the outside appearance fool you. Once you step inside, the warmth from the staff and the delicious New Mexican cuisine is a special treat. Look for the signage that says, "Eli's Place" and you are in the right spot. Underneath, it will say "Sophie's Place", but it isn't easy to see if from the road. I thoroughly enjoyed... More

... and the same is true when you pull up to Sophia's, which is housed in a shack that typically disappears with gentrification. Thank goodness the old structure, with its outside eating yard, has not (yet) been "improved". The food is the creation of the original owner Dennis, who I had the good fortune to find working the grill this... More

From the exterior, one might not think this little place is anything special but they would be wrong. We had a delicious breakfast with excellent coffee. Breakfast is served all day.

While a little difficult to find - small door, little signage and renamed Eli's - but well worth the search.... I enjoyed the short rib taco special. Dined on the picnic tables outside and soaked in the sunshine and tasty bite.

Eight of us had breakfast here .. none of us are from the area but we heard about it ... and it did not disappoint. Amazing authentic new mexican food. Nothing fancy! Just go for the food! Breakfast and lunch served all day. It was so good we went back the next day and tried something different and each time... More

If you have watched Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, you saw this "dive" about 5 years ago. It was called Sophia's Place. We loved the food and the atmosphere. So, we decided to have Sunday breakfast at, what now is, Eli's. Same great atmosphere, same great food and reasonable prices. A high quality joint that is off the beaten trail. Well... More

My family and I have eaten here twice while traveling through Albuquerque. It doesn't look like much on the outside and we almost drove right by it, but it's worth going inside. We absolutely loved the food here! I would definitely recommend eating here if you like Mexican food.

Eli's (formerly Sophia's) is an absolute favorite. This little hole in the wall offers unique, tasty New Mexican food with a culinary twist. The owners are such a joy, and on two occasions in the past brought us out new foods and desserts they're experimenting with to sample and to get our opinions. What a fantastic place!
