We have driven by this place on 4th Street in ABQ for many years without even thinking of stopping there. We were very happy that we stopped to eat there today! We had explored a large pawn shop nearby, so I searched "Near Me Now" on Trip Advisor to find a recommendation. La Familiar sounded intriguing, just a few blocks... More

My wife and I had the menudo that we enjoyed. Although, not much of a spicy kick without adding some red pepper seasoning. I also would have liked more fresh sides that is standard in my experience when served in California...the only fresh garnish sides were the diced onions. The sopapias were one of my favorites that I have had... More

Great authentic mexican food and absolutely wonderful service. The owner checks on your food himself! Coudn't ask for better treatment. This place is about 2 minutes off of I-40. Hightly recommended for travelers who miss good homemade food!

Very casual place that serves reasonably priced food. We had tasty green chile stew with flour tortillas (medium size about $5.50) and a gigantic breakfast burrito for about $6.50. Everything was very good and filling. Easy free street parking.

My friend and I had just landed in Albuquerque where we were to begin our Summer road trip. We found Rey's place on trip advisor, called our friend who is an Albuquerque native to see what he thought. He'd never heard of it so we all decided to check it out for lunch. Apparently it has changed locations but when... More

I went to Rey's Place based on the great reviews on Yelp and TripAdvisor. I'm so glad I made the trek out there. I'm not from ABQ so I had no idea where it was or what to expect. The place is tiny and the 2 people working there were friendly. We were in a rush and the food was... More

The building and area don't look likely for excellent food, but don't judge the book by the cover. I had the pork enchiladas and they were the best I've ever tasted, and I've eaten a lot of enchiladas. My wife tried the combination plate and ended up eating everything because it all tasted so good. Everything tasted like home cooking,... More

Massive, dirt cheap menu. A la carte items are under two bucks, including amazing tamales. I had one and a chorizo burrito and did not eat dinner (I'm a fairly large man).
