We always pop in here on our way to or from Nelson, so that must be a pretty good recommendation, The food is good, the coffees are good and the staff are friendly.

I was part of a group of 20 on twelve motorcycles. We had let them know we were coming and arrived at the time we said we would. We ordered and were served reasonably quickly. The range of food was good and included gluten free options for one of our number. Prices were a little high but fairly reasonable. I... More

Good range of food and plenty of seating both inside and out. Does get busy due to its position between Christchurch and Blenheim, especially after the earthquake in Kaikoura. Prices are what you would expect for New Zealand and service is friendly although can be a bit slow when busy.

The fact that everybody seems to be here gives advance warning that this place has got it all together. The menu is broad, the service quick and portions generous.

I stopped off here on trip thru to Hokitika. They had quite a selection of the normal cafe fare, I selected a salmon Quiche, cost around $7 or $8. It would have to have been the worst quiche I have ever had. Well I didnt eat it all, it was absolutly tasteless, was all flour, very salty and dry. Talking... More

We had only moderate expectations given the remoteness, but were left disappointed. Good points are the location, extensive all day menu, ample seating and great gardens and outdoor areas. The breakfast though wasn't great. My wife and I ordered runny poached eggs with our meals. The arrived hard. No baked beans on my plate (despite being standard with my order).... More

I asked for a double shot small flat white coffee. What eventually arrived was tepid coffee flavoured milk. The selection so food is pretty standard road side cafe. Try Rivers Cafe round the corner. It is much better when it is open

On the way from Nelson to Hokitika we stopped here for a break. It is a surprisingly large place and was busy but the service was quick and coffee & blueberry muffin quite ok and a reasonable price.
