This is one of the my favorite places in Mindo: they have so far the better expresso I've ever drunk in Mindo, good food options (including vegetarian sandwiches) and a very good chocolate tour where you can learn how it's made from the cacao tree to the tasting! They also have a good Wi-Fi and wall sockets - it's a... More

You can taste various products made with the cacao bean (or not if you'd rather a carrot cake). The cacao juice is really particular in the sense that you do not imagine it tastes like that, but very delicious. A good place for a little coffee break or to take a dessert.

A little off the beaten path but still an easy walk from main square. Food was good and plentiful at a good price. We did not do the chocolate tour, but tasted some and it was good, better mixed with fruit.

Very nice filter coffee, and delicious burgers. Have a seat outside and enjoy the rain forest. Not the cheapest option, but good quality.

They tour you through the whole process of making chocolate. We couldn't tell if they really make there or not. Menu looked good, but we only ate chocolate.

Hi Wendy, I just want to reassure you that we do the entire process of chocolate making from purchasing the beans directly from local cocoa farmers and we ferment, dry, roast, grind the beans into nibs, make chocolate batches, temper and mold bars and package right there at El Quetzal in Mindo. I appreciate that you took the time to... More

We did the chocolate tour here and really enjoyed it. It was very interesting getting to see all the stages of the chocolate making process, from tree to the finished product. And the tasting at the end was awesome too - you get to try liquid 100% chocolate with various additions, and also a sample of one of their chocolate... More

I have gone to Quetzal 3 times in the last 2 years. Without hesitation I could say that this is the BEST restaurant in Mindo. Try the quinoa risotto as a meal or side share for few to share, it's is yummy!!! The chocolate tour is also very nice. Quetzal is a small chocolate factory, so if you have never... More

We had lunch at El Quetzal after a recommendation by our taxi driver. We had a delicious vegetable soup, which had lots of big pieces of vegetables. We also had a tuna sandwich. Both were very tasty and freshly made. The gift of a piece of amazing brownie when we paid the bill was a nice touch! Recommended.

My husband and I had lunch here on a recent trip to Mindo -- I tried the tenderloin in coffee (delicious and cooked as wished - medium rare) while my husband tried the chicken mole. Quite delicious - 2 thumbs up! Prices are reasonable.

I came to El Quetzal many times during my stay in Mindo. Great coffee, amazing brownies, and very friendly staff! Definitely worth a visit.
