Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited this restaurant a few years ago and really enjoyed it. We were pleased to see that it is still operating but only Sundays for lunch. The atmosphere is wonderful. We especially like the patio with a view towards the vineyards. The owners are...friendly and welcoming. They serve Mexican, Spanish and Bolivian food and of course wine. A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!More

The Valle of La Concepción is by itself an amazing place and if you are in Tarija, you must go there. La Bodega del Abuelo is by far the best restaurant in town. The food is not only excellent, but the service, the decoration and...the entire building is an experience you must have.More

No trip to Tarija would be complete without visiting here. I think its only open on sundays, but its the best. its beautiful and they offer an international menu with enchiladas that are amazing and fresh seafood. I was curious about calamari and the owner...brought me a decent serving complimentary and it was cooked in the ink and delicious. they are from Texas and the cooking you can tell. they also have delicious chili on the menu and out back a little pond, swing and place for kids to play. this is perfect for kids that want to run around while you can sit and eat with friends in the patio.More

I really enjoy the Bodega del Abuelo because it provides a great alternative to eat in the weekends- You get to leave Tarija, travel to the beautiful Valle, full of vines, and receive very friendly service from the ownes and good food at an old...home. If you visit, after lunch, ask to be shown the older section of the home or the hotel area.More
