Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a brilliant time @Sweetwater Music hall. Nice quaint venue with a wonderful sound. We saw two bands that we LOVE who happened to be playing there together. The Uninvited & Young Dubliners. Drink prices were reasonable as were the show tickets. We ate at the attached restaurant Rock-n- Rye which I will review separately. Suffice to say it was very good very convenient & excellent service.

I’ve never eaten here, but seen many shows from music to comedy. Dana Garvey practically grew upo in this place and it’s venue is a mainstay of the Bay Area entrainment scene.

My family and I stopped for lunch here after visiting Muir Woods. We sat outside, which was perfect since the weather was great and they had heaters! Food was good and the staff was very friendly. Great experience!

Watched two World Cup matches here and both times it was busy, staff kept their cool and served good food and made sure everyone was happy. Very impressive.

This is a place where you can combine live music with good food. The atmosphere is nice ans relaxed and you can savor while looking at the photo gallery on the wall of the restaurant with photos of great musicians of jazz and rock and roll. And If you´re thirsty this place offers jars of cold water.

The folks who own/run the Sweetwater know how to please a communitity. They host the unknown talented musicians, the upmand coming as well as the old time famous musicians of great honor. The hall itself has a cool stage, cocktail tables with chairs, side booth style seats and lots of standing room at the bar and in the hall. No matter where you end up it's a small hall so the acoustics will be awesome. If your traveling to Mill Valley get on the website of the Sweetwater and bookmyour trip around the available tickets to a show of interest. It's well worth it if you are a musician and know the powerful history of the Sweetwater Cafe who gave a venue to many musicians who are rock stars today.

Great little spot. The acoustics are good, not great. Room is small but laid out nicely, and has good features for a small/local venue. Limited seating to the sides, bar in the back with a raised up section, and barrier between the main floor.

Stopped here for lunch while staying in Mill Valley on vacation with my family. The owner is Bob Weir. This is also a nice music hall that appears to have an amazingly robust line up. Unfortunately we could not catch a show. However the food at the cafe was fantastic. Between the 5 of us we got a number of dishes (fish tacos, chowder, mac and cheese balls, calamari, guacamole) and all were delish. The patio dining is sweet. Great service and never felt rushed. It was fun checking out the posters and pix of past performers. I would return for shows or food if out there again. I
totally recommend it to anyone. Fun note: they had the coolest hanging bike racks on their patio. Came home and got them on Amazon. A reminder of a really nice time.

I like meeting people here to then either go inside for their live music or move around Mill Valley for exercise. Its got a good wine selection and simple good eats.

The legends and locals of rock frequent this intimate roots venue. Since 1972 the Sweetwater has been a musical monument in MIll Valley. Located in the historic Masonic Hall it also hosts a delightful cafe. Inside or outside on the patio the full-service menu includes locally sourced and organic fare.

I LOVE this place. Great food, sourced locally, with healthy and vegetarian friendly options. We've enjoyed breakfast with friends and family with and without shows. We've also enjoyed many date nights with fun treats and drinks while we enjoyed some great bands.

One of my favorite breakfast places, especially when the weather is nice and you can sit out on the patio and listen to music. Love it here!

The Sweetwater really does not need another kudo because it is legendary. You can see top level talent in a small setting. That is very hard to find. The bartenders have a bit of an attitude but nothing is perfect.
