Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Charging $19 for a Burrata appetizer that has only about two tablespoons of burrata is really over the top. As is charging $5 for the bread, and $14 for a middling glass of wine. Wait staff is very nice, location is great. But this place needs to improve the food to get me to return.

Granted, based on my previous review I hadn't been back in quite some time. I noticed, perhaps in an attempt to improve the service the menu has become quite a bit smaller, while still offering more than enough choices. They used to offer pasta dishes in two sizes at two prices, that is gone. Only one price and one size and that price is noticeably higher. As are all the items on the menu and wine list. (I am sure that a portion is due to new government rules.) These changes have improved the service efficiency, not the skill set.

It started with unnecessary valet parking for the parking lot right in front. To self park, you had to go to the lot next door. The unfriendly waitress refused any substitutions in the dishes, cutlery was not changed between courses, food was placed randomly on the table and was far too salty. The chicken was ok, but overly spiced and floating in fat. A couple of years ago we had a wonderful experience hete, but we think they have badly slipped. Pity

Traffic was so bad that I stopped here on my way home to wait out the traffic. I decided to have dinner. I enjoyed the Flat iron steak with romesco, roasted potatoes, and Brussels sprouts (it comes with broccoli but the server granted my request to substitute Brussels sprouts). The server’s recommendation of a glass of Baldassari wine from Russian River Valley was a good choice. It went well with my meal. For dessert, I enjoyed vanilla gelato with salted caramel sauce. Many locals come here. I saw them enjoying conversations with the staff.

Overall, this is a beautiful restaurant with an upscale vibe and excellent food. This was a special occasion, as my friend was visiting from Minnesota. I took him to the Bay Area for an overnight stay at nearby Acqua Hotel. The Piatti, very close by, was the perfect choice for dinner. We both loved the ambiance and our dinner choices [Him: rigatoni Bolognese; Me: spinach-ricotta ravioli].

If you want the nicest servers with the best food this place is for you. I recently discovered this place (after living in Marin my whole life) and it’s now my staple happy hour spot. The happy hour prices are great, especially for Marin, and the food / drink are fantastic. And again I really can’t stress how wonderful the staff is. I had Cinnamon last night and Tino the time before, and you really could not ask for more attentive, friendly servers. The manager also always remembers my name and says hello. I have been raving to anyone that will listen about this place!

From the moment I arrived until I left, the service was extraordinary. I started with the house wine and a chopped salad. They were both good. For my entree I decided on the saffron spaghetti. It was the best meal I’ve had in months….and I have had some really good meals. I highly recommend this dish. I wish I lived closer so I could try the choppini. I should’ve taken a picture before I consumed most of it but I couldn’t stop eating. My only regret was that I was too full to try the dessert I had wanted to try.

Stopped to have a very late lunch and the food was awesome. We we’re the only two people there but the initial server did not make an effort. I was surprised. The second shift person was a little better. We weren’t locals so we could tell they didn’t really care. Food was great.

I used to adore this restaurant. What happened? I could make better ravioli if I bought Stoufffers at Safeway. $140 dollars for a pizza and some gosh awful ravioli. I did get a couple of drinks to be able to choke the food down. Today it will be crow food. Beyond disappointing. The only high point is the staff. Never again. And BTW, all my friends and neighbors agree.

We have fond memories of this Italian gem set on the edge of water views with easy highway access. Unfortunately our return left us with disappointment. Now, you are charged for warm bread and dipping sauce. The entrees were very good but not enough to return considering the price tag. Next time, we will go local and venture into downtown Mill Valley.

Fantastic food and view. It was a last minute dinner reservation and well worth it. One of the best Italian meals we’ve ever had. Pasta is house made. I’m a sucker for black pasta and theirs was outstanding. Bolognese was also wonderful. Would come back here if I was traveling to the Mill Valley area.

Our waiter was extra attentive to our every need. I did not find the food to be out of the ordinary, but it was well prepared and the dining room was spacious with lovely views of the water.
