My family and I were visiting Mill Valley and stopped at Joe’s Taco Lounge for lunch. Honestly, the name of the place is what first caught my interest and as soon as we stepped in, I knew it would be amazing! The restaurant is small and the decor is funky. Lots of fun, eclectic things to look at and a shelf filled with various taco sauces line the walls. I ordered the shrimp quesadilla and it was so delicious! The cheese was divine and there was a smoky flavor that made this one of the best quesadillas I have ever eaten. Joe’s Taco Lounge is reasonably priced and a must try for anyone looking excellent Mexican food enjoyed in a fun, casual place.

We were sightseeing in the area and stumbled onto this place. So happy we did, it was a happy surprise. Prices here were very reasonable and the food was fresh and tasty. We shared Blackened Prawn Tacos (wonderful so we ordered a second), Grilled Corn Cake, Grilled Snapper Tostada, an Agave Wine Margarita and a classic Flan and it was all very good. The total bill without tip came to under $80, by far one of the least expensive meals we had in California!

Wonderfully good food and service. Exceptional service actually! My Google pay wouldn't work and they let me eat and drink without paying while I got it sorted out. And they brought me sangria as I waited. And even at the start they had my food ready before I could finish ordering and paying (because of all the problems). Highly recommend!

We picked this place because it was highly rated on trip adviser. I wish we would have read the reviews. The atmosphere was great and service was good, it is easy to get too. Unfortunately the food was really bland, and and plates were very small, not worth the price paid. We all were very disappointed. But learned a lesson.. read the reviews before picking

After a long hike at Muir Woods, we were really looking forward to some great Mexican food but everyone in my family was disappointed. everything was flavorless. We asked for some salsa/pico de gallo but were given store bought sauce.
I can make better burritos at home. The cheese was super weird, thin and slimy, like vegan cheese. The only decent dosh was the ceviche, which was pretty average. Bummer.

Delicious fish tacos and tamarind agua Fresca, with a side of chips and pico de gallo. Service- not sure what was going on - had to ask for a menu, then remind staff of my existence and waited hella long for the bill. Nice enough people but not attentive. Used the bathroom but had to clean all the pee off the toilet seat. Gross. It's now a few hours later and my stomach is grumbling and I'm keeping near the bathroom.

Stopped by here for a late lunch as we drove through Mill Valley. Service was quick and food was pretty good. The chips were good but they do charge for it. I ordered a bowl of chicken tortilla soup was disappointed on the portion being a very small bow. I was hoping for a large bowl since the weather was cold. my family had ordered burritos which were a good size and nachos. They all enjoyed it. It's a small restaurant but seems like a favorite of locals, which is always good.

It's a tasty local treasure with friendly people, great atmosphere, and fantastic food that won't break the bank. Absolutely love their innovation and powering through the pandemic, and they truly are a wonderful part of our community. If you're in town from your woods or Mount tam, check them out on the way in or out.

I've been eating at joes taco lounge for 16 years about 2-3 times a month. I honestly love their food, the atmosphere, and how close they are to my home... but today will be my last meal from there... I got my to-go order and headed home to find someone had taken a bite out of my quesadilla... I promptly returned, gave them the food back and they made me a new order while I waited and watched. But after that disgusting act I will never be returning to their business again.

Local place that packs a crowd of families and teens and couples....easy to get a table off hours, but food disappointed this time. Grilled veggie burritos, paid extra 2 bucks for a wave of guacamole. Seriously? Took half home and will doctor it up with my fav salsa, yogurt, avocado and it will be delish. Fine server. Great chips. Not sure I would return. Can be very noisy. Better options around town.

Wow! After a drive from LA which was after a long flight from another country, this was a great find! We were tired and hungry. We haven’t had good Mexican in a long time and it was refreshing to find this gem. We ordered as much as we could. The servers were lovely and the food was great, all of it. Would definitely recommend and would definitely come back.

We stopped here on our way back home and were pleasantly surprised. It gets super crowded for lunch but we were lucky to get a couple spots at the counter. Service was quick and the Crab Tostada was SO good. Also recommend getting the chips and salsa.
