We had intended visiting the restaurant but in these extraordinary covid 19 times we were lucky enough to be able to have a takeaway. The weekday meal provided was marvellous, for starters we shared a couple of dishes of crispy tiger prawns, for mains we had the seafood ragout, burger and coq au vin. Chocolate mousse and cheeses were also very good. Our only regret was that we hadn’t ordered more of the tiger prawns, they were delicious, must remember to double the order next time.
The one suggestion we have is that they include a note to confirm what the lovely cheeses are, though we had a guess.
The meal really lifted the current gloom for the evening.
In these uncertain times it’s very important that we support such good places to eat.

We had booked to go for Friday and Saturday night (that’s how much we love it here and we are never disappointed), when new lockdown measures were announced 2 days prior to our visit. Sad we had to go for takeaway option but oh my...... it was sensational.
As a result of limited take away pick up slots, food was cooked to be ready at exactly pick up time and when served on our table, it was still restaurant quality. Amazing!!!!!
The kid’s review.... best meal ever!
My blade of beef was melt in the mouth and gravy sauce was so rich and intense. Husband’s guinea fowl was cooked to perfection and our starters (tempura) were still crispy!
We have been to the restaurant circa 10 times now and have never ever been disappointed! Thanks Katy and Brian for a consistently exceptional dining experience and fantastic hospitality

We stayed in Comrie in August 2020 during one of the quieter phases of the pandemic. Seven of us in a cottage on the edge of the village. Saturday was our last day and we tried to book somewhere to go for a meal before returning to England. Called round and everywhere was booked up – we'd left it too late.
We’d tried the Deil’s Cauldron and Brian had told us to call back if we didn’t find anywhere. He could possibly do a take-out for seven and didn’t mind turning up a little earlier for work if we ordered in advance. We took him upon his offer. It was only a short walk away, the menu looked promising and the Deil’s Cauldron had some glowing recommendations in the Visitor’s Book.
Seven of us, including one vegetarian, so we selected the Tapas Menu. Much easier to share around the large table in the kitchen. It also allowed us to order at least one of most of the things we fancied on the menu. Everything - from the wonderful Paella via the Honey Glazed Chicken and Lamb Koftas through to the bean ratatouille was simply excellent. We loved the Prawn Tempura and the red meat easters squabbled over the succulent meatballs. It was just a really great meal with the added bonus of some sweet Tablet/Fudge gifted to us by the Deils Cauldron.
As requested, we returned our take-out boxes and we wanted to thank Katy and Brian. In conversation, they told us that we’d inadvertently ordered from the weekday menu rather than the weekend one; Brian had come in extra early and cooked it all anyway for us as he knew we were stuck. Not only was the food great. but the restaurant fulfilled our accidental order rather than call us back which was probably the easier thing for them to do. We were really grateful. It is a level of service that goes far beyond anything we’ve encountered before.
The Deil’s Cauldron fully deserves its glowing recommendations – for food and service. Highly, highly recommended. Can you give six stars?

Ordered tapas takeaway while staying in St Fillans for a few days. The food was delicious - the black pudding and the bruschetta among my favourites, as well as the venison koftas, and was excellent value for money. Would love to return now it's fully open.

I had wanted to book for Friday or Saturday but fully booked so went for Sunday lunch instead. I was desparate to try the local beef fillet and the chef/owner very kindly offered to serve me this rather than the sunday lunch. It was delicious and had a tasty whiskey sauce with it. I started with a prawn and salmon 'cocktail'. Ended with a lemon souffle, could have been a tad lighter but it was zingy to the tastebuds. The atmosphere is cosy and friendly. Highly recommend. Went for a long walk afterwards along the River.

We went to the Deil's Caulron for the first time having been recommended to go. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was friendly and the food amazing, genuinely one of the best meals I have had. I highly recommend the restaurant - whether on holiday or living in the area - make sure you book ahead to avoid disappointment.

Finally made it along to this lovely little restaurant for a bite to eat, having received a gift voucher recently, and we’re so glad we did!
The building is old and comfortable - on our visit warmed by the real fire which was very welcoming as were the staff, Katy and Brian.
The food was well prepared in good time and was really quite delicious!
Portions were generous and the whole meal, including drinks, was very good value for money.
The lunch menu is not the most varied selection but, importantly, we felt there was something there for everyone.
It was a genuinely relaxing lunch, in very amenable surroundings and we would highly recommend it.
Not the biggest premises and, whilst it wasn’t particularly busy at the time of our visit, we’d recommend a booking just to be sure to avoid disappointment.
We’ll certainly be back!

Wow - what amazing food. We had the breast of guinea foul stuffed with haggis with a whisky and mustard sauce. Delicious! I then had the raspberry creme brulee. It was really, really good.
We had a nice table by the fire, a lovely waitress and tasteful background music that was not too loud. Reasonably priced too considering the quality of the food. We could not fault the place. Highly recommend.

Fabulous food and a warm intimate atmosphere from this husband and wife team. We had Sunday lunch here and the quality of food and presentation was excellent. Starting each with tiger prawn tails in breadcrumbs, which were wonderful. We followed that with traditional haggis and coq au vin. The portion sizes were very generous, so make sure you have been for a long hill walk beforehand. The chicken had been beautifully slow cooked and the meat simply fell from the bone. I can thoroughly recommend this fabulous restaurant. Top tips: it gets very busy quickly and due to the current situation they are operating shorter hours and I suspect table numbers are reduced to ensure social distancing, so I recommend booking ahead to avoid disappointment. We have already booked to go back, but this time for dinner, and can't wait.

Staying in Comrie for a weeks holiday and due to COVID-19 we decided to try the carry out Tapas. This was easy to order and pick up, could not fault the food, it was all delicious, especially the butterfly prawns. Would highly recommend Deils Cauldron Restaurant.

We have been looking forward to eating here again and were not disappointed at the weekend when we went for husband's birthday dinner. Every course was delicious and cooked to perfection. We both had the Seafood Hot pot, followed by the Sea Bass Risotto and then shared the Rhubarb and strawberry bread and butter pudding which had been caramalised on top and came with custard. Scrumptious end to a lovely dinner.
Thanks guys. See you soon.

We went for Sunday lunch while staying at a nearby holiday home and were very impressed with the quality of the food and service. Very quick & friendly staff and the Sunday lunch menu was incredible value for delicious top quality food. The chef came out for a chat at the end of service which was a nice touch. Top marks and we’ll be back - wish we had a local restaurant as good as this where we live !

A fantastic welcome, and stunningly good food. Brian in the kitchen really knows his stuff, and Katy makes sure everyone feels like a special guest.
OK, they are family, we arrived after hours and had a breakfast that is not part of their daily menu, but I think the review is still valid.
If you see this, and are thinking of going, book before you change your mind, and you will thank me later. Guaranteed.

Two old friends joined me for a lovely meal in a somewhat out of the way corner of Scotland. On a fairly quiet evening the welcome from Katy was warm and her service efficient. I enjoyed a smoked haddock risotto (rice cooked a little more next time please) and then an excellent duck - cooked to perfection and sliced nice and thinly. Ice cream was all we could manage after that. A bottle of Valpolicella Ripasso complemented a lovely meal.
