My family and I had a fantastic dining experience at Restaurante Parrilla. The meat and seafood were perfectly seasoned and pact full of flavour at great price.
Best of all was the attention we received from the waiting staff, especially from Tito- He was such...an attentive waiter.More
My family, from both sides of the Atlantic, found the Parilla O Piano to be a delightful experience. After we had enjoyed a long day in the beautiful beaches of the area, we showed up a bit early to our dinner date.
Tito, our waiter,...was gracious enough to allow us to enjoy cocktails in the terrace, where we could enjoy the fresh evening air. He would prove to be most attentive, informative, and full of warmth throughout the night...His knowledge of wine pairing was exceptional.
The ambiance was totally enjoyable, as the place soon filled up with a clientele that was
quite Spanish, gregarious and convivial. It made for a very pleasant engagement.
Each dish proved to be very tasty and authentic. The zamburinas were “spot on “, the necoras were beyond compare! You could taste the sea!
The “ Old Cow “ chuleton was mouth watering, loved by all!
We were not rushed, the staff was very
friendly and helpful, and contributed mightily to our enjoyable night.
The Parilla O Piano has climbed to the top of our favorite restaurant(s) list.
Capping the evening was the gift of the after Dinner “ licores digestivos “ / after dinner cordials, which capped off a perfect evening!
We rate the Parilla as a Five out of Five dining experience- we hope to return frequently!More
Though we had difficulty finding O Piano, we were very glad we persisted. The atmosphere in the dining room was much like a country restaurant in Italy and the feeling of being "family" was the same. The owner brought out a beautiful platter of the...day's catch for the next table to choose from; and though we'd come for *red meat* that night, it looked fabulous. Our lamb chops and veal sirloin with foie gras were both cooked to perfection, pinky rare, and the fries served with both were worth breaking a low-carb diet. The 2009 Rioja we chose was one of the best wines we've ever had--and for only 16€! As if this whole experience wasn't already memorable, our host brought out three decanters of liqueurs to choose from for the perfect dessert. If you are ever in Ribadeo on the northern Spanish coast, put this place on your MUST-DO list.More
We had a wonderful meal at Parrila O Piano, which is just outside Ribadeo. For a starter we had the Percebes (barnacles), which were an unusual but excellent treat- delicious with a nice peppery flavor. The tuna belly salad was large and very flavorful ,...with a nice dressing and fresh vegetables. The Galician octopus with onions and potatoes (encebollado) was a true treat, the octopus perfectly cooked tender, matching nicely with the onions and the paprika sauce. Our younger daughter had a pork escalope with french fries which was well made. The wine list was extensive and offered a number of high quality bottles- we had a wonderful Albarino from Pazo del Senorans. Service was friendly and very professional. There is a nicely protected outdoor terrace to sit on (surrounded by glass but open to the air) and there is also indoor seating. Value is very reasonable for what you get and the wine is well priced for the quality. Would recommend you reserve in advance- or if not, come in early to get any available tables, as it gets quite full.More
Verry good restaurant, the food was superior, verry tasty and good. It Can absolutely be recomended, the only remark was the servants, they were ok, however never gave One single smile, constantly looking like it was a nightmair to do their job 😩.
..we enjoyed our dinner.. The food was very good...scallops for starters, then a house speciality ..lobster with the rice..I'm not sure we got the right desert menu..all we received was a card with ice cream choices from a local company...it was hard to crack a...smile from the staff...there seems to be 2 dining areas..we would have been preferred to be in the less formal/busier areaMore
There are much better restaurants in Ribadeo. Full stop.
Food was poor - insipid calamari (how could they get this wrong - given their location), poor fish. And the staff - do they not like paying customers? Slow to respond, slow to do just about...anything.
However, restaurant was rapidly filling up with large groups of locals so perhaps, we just got a bad break. . .
I would avoid though. Not recommended.More
This is simply an amazing place. Everything is good (meat, fish, seafood, desserts, ...) and the wine selection is quite ample while keeping a low price.
Casa Pepe (or O Piano, as it's also known) is my favourite place in Ribadeo. Personally, I'd recommend the...following:
- Pulpo encebollado
- Salpicón de marisco
- Entrecot de buey
- Solomillo de ternera
- Any fish "du jour" or seafood
- Mouse de turrón
- Leche fritaMore
