Family of four with a couple of food allergies and a picky kid, and the Prince and the Pauper totally delivered. Great wine list, TREMENDOUS service and just the warmest place to hang on a cold Vermont night. I had a prime rib special and...More

Our experience at the Prince and the Pauper was wonderful in every way. The service, the food, the atmosphere exceeded our expectations. We spent 5 days in Woodstock and this was by far the best food we had during our visit.

Excellent food. Nice quiet romantic spot. The food was delicious, try the calamari or the mussels.. wonderful! We had the duck and the lamb chop, both were excellent. Must visit if you are in the area.

We recently had dinner at the Prince & the Pauper during our stay in Woodstock and the experience was underwhelming at best. I had expected the ambiance to be more upscale, but was willing to overlook that given we were in a rural area of...More

We were introduced, rudely and were surprised by this. The man who greeted us thought we didn't have reservations but changed his tone when he found out we did. Another couple walked in after us and did not have reservations and were told no availability...More

Having just spent 4 weeks in Woodstock, this was the best meal and experience of all the ones we have tried during our stay. My husband had as a starter mussels in a thai sauce and they were amazing. My main course, Carre d'Agneau Royale...More

This is a small elegant place just off the main square in Woodstock. The food is excellent and so is the service. We ordered cocktails, apps, dinner and dessert. All served with a smile and attention to detail. Presentation was beautiful for all of the...More

Everything was very good and delicate. Hard to find such a place in the US ! However, this is not a cheap restaurant.

If well behaved I think a great dining experience for younger culinary crowd!
My wife can only eat fish, not shellfish. If we reserve can we expect fish to be available?

The menu is limited but still quite diverse. I would suggest that when you make a reservation you pose that question. Although busy and successful for many decades, the restaurant is still run as a craft enterprise, or make... More
