Shocked to discover the emphasis is not on locally sourced food. I don't even know if the butter was from Vermont; the salmon sure wasn't. I guess since they cater to the local residents, they want to have food from everywhere, not just locally procured. The wines by the glass were lacking in variety. Nonetheless, the cook did a great... More

From the moment you walk in and are greeted by friendly host/hostess, to the wonderful wine selection, to the interesting salad, homemade bread, to the wonderful entrée options, to the grand finale of the most delicious homemade deserts made in house, you will be totally AMAZED! I have tried almost every entrée ,and each is cooked to perfection and very... More

We both enjoyed our meals (pork stuffed with apricots & filet mignon) as well as deserts (apple turnover & lemon curd w/cream). Our server was business-like and efficient but not very warm, though the hostess was very friendly. Nice old-time pub-like atmosphere; not noisy.

Really enjoyed Prince and the Pauper, the service and meal were fantastic. Appreciated the flexibility of ordering entrees from Bistro or Prix Fixe menus. No rush, friendly servers.

Had a wonderful dinner here with my wife. Great location in center of town. Great Service throughout meal and our server couldn't have been more attentive. We made an online reservation and were promptly seated. They have prix fix menus but we ordered ala carte. Had a terrific salad with the right amount of dressing and fresh ingredients. I had... Avoid this place. Yes, it has location and decor, but the food the night my wife and I ate here was simply awful, not to mention extremely overpriced. In fact, these were the worst meals in this area we've ever had. Local diners do better at a sixth the price.

We had reservations for a Thursday night around 6 pm and we were able to walk to this location from our bed and breakfast. Upon arrival, we saw a quaint little sign and walked to the side of the building to the main entrance. We knew this place was not going to be cheap but seeing the dinner course menu... More

My partner and I had dinner at the Prince and the Pauper on 3/23/17. There wasn't anything extremely off putting about our experience. The service was great, our waitress was very attentive. The ambiance was also nice; you definitely get that small town New England vibe. We ended up ordering al a carte. My partner had the NY strip, and... More

We were treated like regulars - - - from not rushing us out of the bar area long after our reservation time, to asking our opinion where we wanted our table or booth, to the waitress who was friendly and fun. Food was great - - - good wine and beer selections - - - and Linzertorte for dessert topped... More

Our daughter and son-in-law made reservations for our Saturday evening as they had dined here before and loved it. The food was wonderful as well as our server, Randi. She made the evening even more enjoyable with her excellent service and humor. Can't wait to go back there.
