I loved this place! I'd heard great things about it and for good reason. It's a hole in the wall that I would have never noticed had I not been looking for it. The putanesca was amazing as was the spicy dish (can't remember what it was called) that I ordered. The portions are large and full of flavor, the... More

You will walk this place and never think to go in which is a huge mistake. The sign does not represent the place, but it does let you know you are in the right place. Hung over a non-descript door, the sign really looks like it is left over from the 1960's and when you open the door and see... More

We had no problem getting a table on a Monday night, although it was still crowded, noisy fun. Our group shared the scungilli ceviche before moving on to gargantuan portions of pasta! The puttanesca, the mixed seafood, the squid napoletana, the amatriciana....ALL were excellent, and each dish could have easily served 3 people. Everything was reasonably priced - the puttanesca... Loved loved loved Edo's Squid. Atmosphere was wonderful starting with the walk up to the second floor. Once inside the noise level was very high and the tables were on top of each other, but it worked. Some of the best seafood I have ever eaten. Very large portions!

It looks like a dive on the outside, and in order to get in you have to climb a steep stairwell that looks like the entrance to the kitchen. It's confusing. But once you find it...the place is hopping with business. It's very popular with Richmonders. We had the brocoletti with pine nuts as an appetizer. Perfect! Very garlicky but... More

This trattoria with simple exquisite dishes in a humble setting next to the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) hits the mark for lunch or dinner with family and friends. (Just close your eyes as you enter and climb the stairs as you enter the salon - passing the cleaning brooms and mops leaning against the wall.) The deep fried calamari appetizers... More

Came in on a Tuesday night and was seated semi promptly. The hostess was very nice and accommodating. The pasta we ordered was very good and the wine selection was nice as well. I do see why the other reviewers here have harped on the service. Our waitress was nice, but did not go out of her way when we... More

My husband and I went here for lunch one weekend. He goes here a lot for work stuff and wanted me to try it. It is a very small restaurant so the tables are a little cramped. It has a rustic feel to it. It wasn't crowded thankfully. They have a more limited menu for lunch as most places do.... More

We love Edo's and always have good experiences. We landed here on New Years Eve with a party of 8 and, as always, they delivered amazing food and excellent customer service. We ordered calamari and pan-seared scallops for appetizers, both of which were perfectly cooked. We shared four dishes, family style, and loved everything we had. Our server was on... More

Almost a hole-in-the-wall, upstairs dining room. Good beverage list, and amazing Italian food. You can't go wrong with anything here, so feel free to explore. Expect a wait on the weekends.
